My gf checked out Total Wine yesterday (grand opening) and loved it. Great prices, huge selection! So good to see some variety and competitive prices.

I'm surprised by the article's mention of someone buying the Crossroads state store location and license. With QFC right next door, I didn't think such close competition--or at least competition within one shopping center--was allowed?

I'm thrilled with the concept of ebooks and also the offerings of audiobooks on CD and for download. With a long road trip coming up soon, I downloaded the Overdrive app for my iPhone then used my library credentials to check out and download several audiobooks for the trip. Did all that from home, and after 21 days the audiobooks will "expire" and be quietly removed from my phone. Didnt have to visit the library even once. Thank you, KCLS!

I hope it's a decent tablet that can compete with the iPad. Competition will help bring more innovation and lower prices.

I can't help but worry though that once again MSFT is a day late and a dollar short. When people invest in a platform, e.g., DRM-restricted songs, platform-specific apps and software, I can't see them giving up that investment to migrate to another system. I'd already bought too much music via iTunes to ever think of giving the Zune a chance, and it will likely be that way for me with my iPad apps when it comes to Surface.

I doubt LA will be burning over this. Hockey isn't nearly as popular as basketball in southern CA. If the Lakers had won a championship, then I'd be expecting cars flipped and burning in the streets!

Regardless, congratulations to the Kings! Very impressive post-season and a well deserved hoisting of the Cup.
