I have an iphone 3G with OS 3.0 and baseband 4.26.08 currently working great jailbroken with redsnow and unlocked with ultrasnow. It's obviously been awhile since I've checked in on this site am rather confused with all the changes. Any suggestions on what/how to update to the best OS without going to an unwanted baseband? I need to update to get certain apps to work again. I read in some comments that 4.1.2 and 05.13.04 works well.

I was installing MiVTones in cydia and my iphone flipped out with the apple logo and black screen. I eventually unfroze it, but now now Cydia won't open at all. I have tried restarting and powering off to no avial. Anyone know what could be causing this or how maybe re-install cydia? Please help! Thanks.

Ok, I'm definitely behind a couple weeks since i've been out of the country so apologies if this has been asked before, but I did try to look through comments... If I'm not having any problems with ultrasnow 0.8 except for push notifications not working, is it important that I upgrade to 0.91? I am just very cautious when changing something that is working great already. Thank you

Ok, so I have been having a short battery life issue with my 3g and have heard the issue is rooted in the fact I updated from my backup (from 2.2.1) instead of starting up a new phone and then just syncing saved info. First, is this a reasonable idea to fix battery life? And second, my phone has been working great other than the battery life, so if I do factory restore and re-jailbreak/re-unlock do I use 0.7.2 redsnow and the 1st ultrasnow that were working great for me? or do I use the updated 0.8 and updated ultrasnow? I have heard some issues with the updates and that nothing much was added pertaining to my 3g.

So I know if I already jailbroke my 3g with 0.7.2 then I can just get the updates through cydia, but if my ultrasnow is working great currently, then is it still important to upgrade that?

Anyone else having issues putting in text tones in .caf format? I ssh and put it in place of one of the sms-received files but it's not playing on my phone. Any ideas? Thanks.

There's no way, it's only 9am on the west coast right now and if they were that close to finishing last night they would have just finished it then. They weren't that close to finishing last night since they said "don't wait up."
