on Eid in west, its probably a working day(as till the last moment no one know when is eid going to be), children are told that you are going to starve for 30 days, on the 31st day you need to wear back-home "cultural dress" and go to big parking space, mosque or park for Eid Prayers. later, Parents will get back to work and children will play PS-3 on the rest of boring day.....

i sincerely hope that some other NFP should not be writing after a decade on similar topics and saying,
"1996 Cricket World Cup was Played under lights (First ever Final to be played under flood-lights) between Sri-Lanka and Australia in Qaddafi stadium Lahore (its name might be changed by then).
When an island defeated the entire continent and Arjuna Rana Tunga , the captain on Sir-Lankan, said "Thank You Lahoris , you really made us feel like as if we were playing in Colombo"!!!!!
2012-these days sporting teams from even the most volatile/turbulent country avoid coming to Pakistan, due to security reasons.

1.Cocktail of déjà vu and comparative analysis of water shed in two countries.
2.Social equations were same, somewhat different inputs/factors but results came out exactly the same.

4. Reminds me of a time when i went to "Gurdwara" temple in Nankana sahab. I managed to get in there, thanks to my beard (though it was a rare instance that my beard helped me to get thorough security checks). Atmosphere and architecture (unlike what author observed) was overwhelming. But, when i was about to approach some priests there to speak about the building and its history, security officials realized i am a tourist. The literally shewed me away and one of them passed comments on me as if i were a "heretic".

why we believe that one day A Messiah (Government official, political leader or scientist) will come and our centuries old vicious problems will be solved. We really need to think about developing institutions rather than bowing in-front of personalities.

1972- people traveled to see latest Movie to Kabul and come back same day,
2012- people go to mosque/temple/shrine or church in their own city and wonder if they will ever come back !!!

اور جب تازہ پھلوں کے خالص جوس کے ساتھ افطار و سحر ٹرانسمیشن کے محل نما سیٹ پر لگے روحانی دربار میں آنسو بیچتے ہوئے خدا کے نبی کی تنگی و عسرت بھری حیات کا تذکرہ ہوتا ہے تو دیکھنے سننے والے روزہ دار کے ہاتھ سے نوالہ گر ہی تو پڑتا ہے ۔
اور خدا یہ منظر تیس روز دلچسپی سے دیکھتا ہے ، انتظار کرتا ہے ، مسکراتا ہے اور پھر عید کے روز مہربانیوں کا سارا سٹاک اپنے ناشکروں میں اس امید پر بانٹ دیتا ہے۔۔شاید اگلے برس ہی کوئی بھولا بھٹکا مجھ تک پہنچ جائے ۔۔۔۔
ماں اور خدا !!!!
آج دونوں کے پاس اپنے دنیادار بچوں کے انتظار کے سوا اور ہے ہی کیا ؟؟
