That's alright - nice to see such a civilized BTL conversation on a subject like this

That's a silly comparison. This isn't about refusing to treat someone because of a their sexuality, race or gender, it is about refusing to carry out specific procedure that some may feel constitutes doing harm to another person - totally different and a very reasonable ground for exemption.

'Everyone knows that the carrot of EU membership was dangled in front of Turkey to encourage reforms' - If that was the case it wouldn't have been an effective story would it? Joining the EU isn't the concern, but freedon of movement with Turkey was, and that wouldn't be such a big hurdle to overcome

Seeing as the EU are planning to create an army and consription is the norm on the continent, that is a reasonable supposition. That the EU is far too close to Turkey is still true.

What evidence do you have that the Brexit movie was false?

Why should we pay for things we don't benefit from? As for our trading relationship, why can't it be just as good? On the continent the EU is an explicitly political project, we have always seen it, and remainers have always sold it here as an economic arrangement. Logically if all the other member states believe in the political ideal then there's no problem cutting loose the least enthusiastic member whilst retaining the beneficial trading relationship.

Hardly a big devaluation, we're now hitting the BoE target for inflation. Even if the things you point out are trye, so are the things Bardolpho has pointed out, so in other words both good and bad things are happening in the Brexit economy.
