Thanks again Miltos. It is so cool to hear that the cast and crew feels the love from the fans. When I started this site, I had hoped that that kind of connection would develop. And it sounds like it has. I'm really looking forward to the next 30 weeks as we get to hear bits and pieces of what is going on with the production and witness the hard work of hundreds of people coming together to create something that will be enjoyed by millions. Even though I'm half a world away, through this wonderful thing called the internet, I feel like I am there, on set, getting to be a part of this. And I have to say, it is freaking awesome! Keep up the good work man! Yeah, it's really hard to tell from the photos but it definitely could be the backs of completed sets. They can do a lot with perspective and green screens to make it look like a sprawling castle complex. The key thing with this set, and I think it is why they chose to build Castle Black here, is the quarry wall will allow for the lighting to be just right. I would imagine it would be hard to replicate the lighting you would get from living beneath an 800-foot wall, but this is probably as close as they could get.

Sounds like maybe today was a read for episode 4 only. I'm noticing all the actors you listed are in the tourney scene or the training at Castle Black (with the exception of Kristian, who may have actually been Conan). Sounds like they might be filming that stuff first?

While I'm sure they will have a stunt man do the actual jousting for all the characters (with the possible exception of Conan Stevens), I would think they would want them to look as comfortable and natural as possible while on a horse and holding a lance.

I'm guessing it will go episodes 2-4, 5-7, 8-10. The pilot reshoots probably aren't considered an "episode" in this case. They will have to work them in somehow though.

I remember this was suggested back when people wanted Alexander Skarsgard to play Jaime. To have that real-life father-son thing. The same sort of meta-casting has been suggested for the Greyjoys, with Lily Allen playing Asha and Keith Allen playing Balon Greyjoy.
