Vegas Geek : Centralized mail/calendar with Google Apps

John, can you give me a few reasons why I should transfer our company's website from Joomla to WordPress. Is SEO that much better? I know from an admin standpoint I'd much prefer WP. How much would I expect to spend to have the site (hharborists [dot] com) look like a website vs a blog?

Well that is a serious project. And so worth the time! Thanks for the tutorial. I will be using this for sure. So you'll be using the Google (gmail) interface when people email you at 9seed-email.com? Then I imagine you could still manage multiple email accounts with Google, especially on iPhone and iPad.

Spence Smith : 5 Changes I Made To How I Use Twitter

Spence - good read, good thoughts. I applaud your efforts to constantly analyze your social media best practices. And I agree that it has the ability to get overwhelming at times. While I use Twitter to drive traffic to my blog and engage in certain conversations, I also use it as a huge source of information for news, technology bits, and social media strategies (blogging ideas). So I have to ask a guy who has 35,000+ followers: how long is your list of your "inner circle?" I know the Franklin campus is your main group of friends, but outside of that, how many @replies or mentions are you getting per day? The reason I ask is that I've tried to interact a little on Twitter regarding your LifeWorks with Randy Elrod and haven't heard back from either of you. Please don't read this as confrontational - I'm just trying to figure out how you manage conversations and what to expect. Email may be better for this conversation. Thanks again for the insight on Twitter.

Michael Hyatt Blog : A Social Media Framework

Michael - great blog post. Although I'm tempted to disagree with your opening line about not being an expert or guru. I see you as an excellent example, so guru certainly seems applicable. I think your post here could be expanded for the beginner. I understand what you're talking about b/c I consider myself a guru of social media and creating a platform. Specifically, I'm about two months away from launching my HomeBase - transferring from a Blogger account to a WorkPress - very exciting. Great post. Thanks for the insight. Also, you're setting a good example taking your blog/Twitter hiatus. Good luck with that.

John - you know I'm SOOOO close to making the switch from Blogger to WordPress. You can be the catalyst and hook me up with a free Standard Theme and my blog will speak your praises! Nice post here on Hyatt's blog.

Spence Smith : Focusing On Intentional

Good thoughts Spence. I'm found myself pondering the same thought earlier this year. I found two good exercises for this - one by Michael Hyatt and the other by Chris Brogan. I wrote about it on my blog (http://hansgameplan.blogspot.com/2010/01/3-words-...

Spence Smith : Sex, Lies & Religion By Randy Elrod

Nice review Spence. I've seen you mentioning this a lot so I'll have to check it out. Of course it's on a long list of books to read. I'd be interested in your reading list as a blog topic. Would that fit into your theme?

Jonathan - I'd love to have you post on my blog, hansgameplan.blogspot.com I write about my life reflections on leadership, social media, and fitness training. Possible topic: training the body and discipline as a Christian man. I'm open for thoughts or whatever you come up with in good faith. It would be great to connect with you.

Human3rror : All Paid Wordpress Themes are Now Free!

Word up. Free stuff DOES rock. John, I have a question. I'll be signing up for your hosting promo this spring. I'm just starting to look into WordPress templates. Unfortunately my content will be some personal and some business - exercise and fitness business with workouts, resources, and training tips. I'll be incorporating pics and videos and Twitter widget (plug-in?) for sure. Any themes come to mind?

ChurchCrunch : My Blog is My Online Mistress

John - I totally agree. My wife actually called me on it before I knew about it. This was a short post and I think we could really expand on this topic. As Christian men I think we need to keep a critical eye on this issue. Business and technology are very alluring to some of us. And it can be a good thing, especially for you as you're "making people's dreams come true." I'm just starting my business ideas. Anyway, good though. Thanks for posting it.

In 2010 I want to focus on 3 Words - an exercise by Chris Brogan. He uses 3 words to encompass everything he does for the year. My three words are catalyst, athlete, coffee. It's a little abstract, but you can read my blog for details.

Michael Hyatt Blog : The eBook of the Future

Wow - that's amazing. Yes, if magazines can do it so can/will books. I love it but there's still something to picking up SI from the newsstand and paging through. I know it will be long before that's gone (if ever). How much do you see that reader and subscription costing?

Michael Hyatt Blog : Embrace the Concept of “Permanent Beta”

Michael - there's a lot of application in this post for me. Perfectionism can really hold people back from good things; it can even hold people back from moving forward at all! Wonderful insight in this post.

Michael Hyatt Blog : Should You Consider Self-Publishing?

Truly big news! Congrats on moving the company in this direction. I especially appreciate "reason #3" regarding the "farm team". That really resonates with the amateur writers who think "book deal" and get a little overwhelmed. Your reasons for self-publishing are also inspiring. I will be looking into costs and have this dream goal in the back of my head now. And great work with the name - very meaningful.

Michael Hyatt Blog : Book Notes: Born to Run by Christopher McDougall

Michael - I would like a copy of Born to Run b/c I'm on my third marathon and from what you've said, this is must-read. I'm also a personal trainer with connections to many fitness people, and as my exercise career develops, I'm always looking for new and relevant material for my clients. If this is as life-changing as you suggest, I would love to share it with others. Thanks again for the offer.
