I don't think 10 million is very plausible.

Consider how many people in your school/work. What percent are Bronies? Say it's a generous 2%. These people (probably 16-30 in age) part of a larger group, the general populous, which has a much lower Brony rate, close to zero. So 300 million Americans, 50 million in the target range, two percent of 50 million is 1 million. I'd say one million is the biggest plausible number of Bronies possible in the US. Honestly, I'd expect the number to be closer to 150,000 active Bronies in the U.S., by the attendance of conventions and pageviews on EQD, but I have no data to back that up.

10 million or 1 million or 100,000, It's still a hell of a lot of people.

True, true, but what then? Death threats never meant anything on the internet, they never amount to anything. Whoever sent them might have just been trying to make US look bad. I'm not going to care about this issue at all unless the staff is truly spooked, which they shouldn't be. They have to understand, there is a whole contingent of our fandom that freely and willingly talks about rape and murder in the pony/human mutliverse like it's practically nothing (have you SEEN the thread simulators?). There are bad parts, I don't know why it's suddenly an issue now that something happened that we knew was going to happen anyways.

Once the corporate power seizes control of a creative enterprise, it can perform whatever evil deeds it wants upon it. I know Hasbro is just out for the money, but they need to re-think what it means to create a kid's TV show if they thought EQG was a truly worthwhile idea. The whole show, I used to think, stood tall against such TV gimmicks as EQG. It's a sort of moral standard Lauren Faust helped sustain, until she left and upper management filled the creative void she left. Still, I have a lot of hope in the current staff and I don't doubt their ability to continue FIM for as long as it should continue.

You're going to have to cite your sources here. I'm an appreciator of 4chan and I take no offense to the clearly offensive encounter you described. There are many people in our midst that are not moral creatures, who do not have the "moral sense" as it were. I am one of them, except that I have manners and I don't have a reason to hate specific people. I'm going to write you off as dishonest unless I get proof.

In any case, I don't think specific cases such as this one should be such a big deal, considering how big our fandom is. I do not condone hate speech, but I don't particularly support hating hate speech either.

Whoever is sending hate to any animators, I hope they understand that the haters who actually do that are so much in the minority that they don't represent us at all. I don't think DHX or we should take anything seriously about hate.
