Wow!
20 cops to arrest one lawyer - looks like a major overkill here. Was a SWAT team included?

The oil adjustment conundrum proves how inefficient price controls are in general.
I believe in Milton Friedman's basic economic theory in that governments are very bad at managing the economy and the less control we give them, the better for consumers.
In the documentary "Free to Choose", he describes how for every $1 benefit provided by government, it costs something like $20 to administer!
Isn't that now happening with our bloated civil service?
If we consider oil to be a major cost element in many industries like power generation, why has the cost of electricity not been reduced by at least 20%? Just think of the boost to consumers and industries if that occurred.

while the licence may not be revoked, the authorities have now a 40% restriction rule of airfares of the budget airlines - ie cannot offer fares cheaper than 40% of the normal fares.
That would definitely put a damper on 2015 earnings.
However, cheaper aviation fuel costs may boost air travel and the Indonesian market is booming.
Pity the research house did not come up with a more detailed analysis on earnings and growth.

Yes, that is one problem lacking in our society - fair and proper debate on issues.
If the government is right, it should have a regular series on the national TV on important issues .
The public should be smart enough to see which side has better brains!

What exactly is "golf diplomacy?"
You let the other guy win so you score points elsewhere?
Better ask Obama to come to Kelantan and fly kite!

I agree. Once the situation becomes grave like 10,000 victims or 1000 acres flooded, the acting PM should declare an emergency and not wait for an absentee PM.
The Emergency Chief then has the authority to command resources from various government agencies and also cancel annual leave.
Given that floods occur yearly, this is a major planning disaster, especially with only 7 helicopters deployed initially.

Yes, civil servants should expect more from the budget.
But firstly, they must suggest ways to reduce their numbers by at least 35%.
Then we should approve a 15% increase in salaries but always tied to measured KPIs every year.

An unfortunate comment by the police officer.
Like what happened in Rotterhite in the UK recently, that was uncovered after many years of connivance by the local authorities, this type of activities cannot go on unnoticed by the authorities unless they are sleeping on the job and acting in cahoots with the crooks.
You can guess which.
