"Sati" is the name of a goddess who according to Hindu legend self-immolated because her father had humiliated her husband Shiva (big daddy issues there). This practice dates back to the Gupta Empire (280-550 A.D.) i.e. before the dawn of Islam. It was sometimes voluntary, but most of the time FORCED on poor women whose husbands died. Muhammad bin Qasim stopped the practice of Sati rather than cause it when he witnessed it in Sind and Multan. It is still practiced in certain parts of rural India long after the time of "Muslim invaders". The govt. of India had to pass an act in 1987 to outlaw it after Roop Kanwar, an 18 year old committed Sati upon her husband's death.

I've met Dr. Bakhtiar on numerous occasions in Chicago. She is an extraordinary woman (2 Masters, a Ph.D in Educational Psychology and is a certified counselor) and has written extensively on Sufism. She is also a regular attendee/speaker at Chicago Coalition for Inter-Religious Learning (CCIRL). I would take her translation over Yusuf Ali/Pickthall etc. She translated the Quran in a scientific way by going to the root of every word in Classical Arabic and it is in modern American English (read the Preface to "The Sublime Quran" for more detail on the method).

Well, either absorb them and give them equal rights if Israel wants to continue calling itself a democracy, or if it's too scared to do that due to your stated point, then give them statehood and let them sort out their own issues as a country. Right now it is in the middle of these 2 options i.e. they have withdrawn troops but still remain in control of the movements of people and goods in and out of Gaza. Whats your plan?

I actually believe in a one state solution. Israel should take control of Gaza and the West Bank along with their populations. Then in the true spirit of democracy that Israel claims to be, they should give equal voting rights to all and let Arab parties also contest in elections. What Israel wants is one state solution with Apartheid, a ruling minority. No matter how strong Israel is militarily, politically it is doomed, the threat will not come from Iran or anywhere outside, it will be from within. In another 50 years, Arabs in Israel and PA will outnumber the Jews by a pretty hefty margin.

I can't find anything to disagree with. Only the top Army brass (i.e. CoAS and the 4 Corps Commanders) and just may be the Chief of Air Staff (since his F-16s would be needed to carry) would know anything about the location/authorization codes. Also, the war heads are not pre assembled to tag on to ballistic missiles, but the capability is there to do so at short notice. The Taliban are not even smart enough to "have an accident". There is more a chance of getting a Russian made suitcase type nuke on the black market than Pakistan's nukes falling to Taliban.
