Big Journalism : NBC's 'First Read' Laughably Declares Big Labor's 100% Failure Rate in Wisconsin 'Mixed'

The fights in WI and OH are far from over. Big Labor is working on the recall of Gov. Walker and with his common sense reforms of state employee contracts will have a large number of public employees actively campaigning for his recall (probably on gov't time as well knowing them) as he ends the gravy train they have been on. The fundamental change that needs to happen is the realization that you cannot fix budget deficits and high unemployment with more PUBLIC jobs that need tax dollars that are not there to pay for them. Plans that grow the private economy, grows tax revenues, which then allow gov't to hire more workers. Until then.. NO MORE PUBLIC WORKERS.

Big Government : The F Troop: How the GOP Candidates Failed Simply by Showing Up at MSNBC/Politico 'Debate'

Again, we are all onto their game now or at least more onto their game than we were in the past. If the argument is that is provides legitimacy to MSNBC as a "fair network" that was blown out of the water with the direct focus on the death penalty and global warming. I was surprised that it was MSNBC allowed into the Reagan library though. On a side note, how in the heck do I have a higher reputation score than you Andrew? That is not right. Big fan and love the work you are doing. The key is to have no more fear when standing up for common sense principles.

I thought that the candidates did their best to point that out during the debate and not always fall for the sputtering "but I really do like the people" statement to make them shut up. It makes for good sound bite for the DNC unfortunately but it also is nice to see that most of the candidates can defend their positions without having to "out-compassion" each other. There are critical issues that need to be addressed. The moderators made decision not to pursue those issues which is unfortunate and tried to pen the candidates into corners. I still think that it should at least make them enhance and improve their responses when on the campaign trail regular voters try to trot out those talking points.

But Andrew, I just finished your book and you specifically state that we cannot just forfeit these hostile environments in the event that there are some that will be enlightened. I agree that the forum, questions, agenda etc were all hostile to the GOP and the post debate analysis (which I did not watch but saw the tweets) were obviously a "see how they all stink" party. The bottom line is that they are still one of the old 3 networks and candidates will need to kiss the ring, right or wrong. If anything, it should also serve to tip the hand of what talking points Boehlert and company think they have on the candidates so their campaigns can hone and improve the message on those points. I think as long as the candidates are realistic enough to understand that it will be a hostile and UNFAIR environment, if they are good candidates, they should be able to take it, turn it and hopefully use it as an advantage for their campaign.

Big Hollywood : Morning Call Sheet: Pee Wee, Star Wars, Aquaman, and a Happy Friday to You All

Unfortunately I believe the only versions being released are the "revised editions". I remember reading an article some time back stating that Lucas refuses to re-release the original cinematic versions again as now the movies represent the story as he wanted to tell it.

Big Hollywood : Trailer Talk: Pixar's 'Cars 2' Arrives June 24th

Well Syrin23 my 3 year old son LOVES the movie and cannot wait for the new one. Even my older daughters have enjoyed it and it is definitely one we plan on making the trip to the theatres for. I agree with the previous sentiments that even the worst Pixar movie was better than most of the other "kid-family" movies out there. I know that under the original Pixar nameplate they were very hesitant to do sequels. I would suspect the full integration into Disney and their marketing machine has something to do with all of the sequel rumors for Monsters Inc, Cars, etc. I am surprised that with all of the Marvel Comics movies that the Incredibles have not been scheduled for a sequel yet but who know. One thing with Pixar, I distinctly remember seeing the trailer for Ratatoullie and my wife and I said, this movie will be AWFUL but then we saw it and said WOW, that was significantly better than expected. WallE was OK and in my mind probably the weakest of the catalog in my opinion although visually stunning.

Big Government : Stimulus Pays Off With Obama Teachers Union Endorsement

When this story first came out I retweeted it with the headline: In other "BREAKING NEWS" water is still wet. Not a surprise and the fact that our local school districts postponed hard cuts because of the stimulus and now are scrambling to make larger cuts than planned because of it was something that we WARNED about but as usual we were labelled as anti-kid and anti-education.

Big Journalism : George Will: Glad To See Beck Go

What a load of crappy crap crap. Glenn says something controversial in 2009 and boycotts are called. Show remains on the air for 2 full years. Left taking a victory lap? You can't be serious. I would love to see Glenn stay but I think he has bigger plans than the tv show allowed him to do and he appears to be concerned about his health and family. There is significantly more there than just the ad revenue and the "FOX news" brand. He has stated that there IS a NEW signed deal and just the TV show is ending. That should make the left worry in my opinion because now there will be programming available without the controversy of having the Glenn Beck name on it to inform the viewers.

Big Peace : Troubles At A Japanese Nuclear Plant??

Unfortunately I will suspect the media will concentrate on this single issue to put a dagger into all future nuclear power options again. They will miss the fact right in front of their face that the other reactors throughout the country were ok and safe through the crisis. Even if the radiation of this reactor remains contained, they will spin it somehow into a disaster worse than what has already occurred with the tsunami and earthquake.

When picking between ancient ROCK bands and current pop bands for the halftime show, I think after tonight we have established that choosing the ROCK bands are a much better choice. I would even say that going all COUNTRY next year would be an improvement. Some "pop country" sounds a whole lot like 80's hair band rock to me!

Big Government : Is The Right Wing Blogosphere Afraid Of Pigford?

Lee, My only theory is that since this issue, although an American corruption problem, focuses on African Americans. The default response from the Left and, sorry, progressives, is that when the right side exposes things like this, they never debate or confirm the facts. Instead, they scream RACIST RACIST RACIST until enough people belive them and move on to the next outrage of the day. See... their "honest" Tea Party coverage.

Big Government : It is Past Time to Shut Down WikiLeaks

I am very concerned about all of the Republicans that are calling for this site to be shut down. You prosecute the person who revealed classified docs to the extent of the law. You prosecute the person who knowingly publishes stolen or illegally gained documents. But the site itself should NOT be completely shut down/off filtered, etc. If you start with WikiLeaks, it won't be long before THESE sites are shut down due to the information they receive from "informants" under the SAME justification. Not a good plan for those who favor free speech. Palin's FB post made disappointed me asking for the govt to use their full force to shut down the site. Personally I am tired of the full force of the govt and would like it to stop expanding their full force.

And I just saw some internals of the polling that mention the Fox Valley and NorthEastern area are actually running about 50-50 which is very disappointed. Door County by it's nature seems to skew blue but there was a time were we could rely on Green Bay and the Fox Valley to counter act Milwaukee and Madison.
