Paul

So who has opposed the abolition of the House of Lords? The Conservatives. Who has stoutly defended the charitable status of private schools? The Conservatives . Who called the Referendum with a question that did not mention anything about the Customs Union, The Single Market, The ECHR, the date if withdrawal, the transition period? The Conservatives. You made your bed and you are (in many senses) lying in it.

No, it is simply that you are making stuff up. Your description of the new EU representatives’ role is incorrect. You seem to be unaware that the Foreign Office has announced their purpose and it is quite different to what you claim.

We are not negotiating our exit in 27 separate sets of talks.

That is an idiotic argument. I don’t see how it helps justify cutting of our representation around the world.

Rubbish. The Eu is our biggest market, About 44% of UK exports in goods and services went to other countries in the EU in 2016—£240 billion out of £550 billion total exports. The point is we have cut the number of representatives around the world, which is the very reverse of what we were promised. These are not weak arguments, I am afraid. They expose the fatal lie that exists at the heart of the Brexit project.

This is crazy. If Liam Fox’s prescription for Britain is so marvellous why is he struggling to persuade anyone to work in his new department? He is regarded as a near lunatic in Whitehall. The notion that being in the EU limits our performance defies the facts - Britain was in serious trouble economically when it joined and we have benefitted enormously from membership. The suggestion that because our “growth markets”are elsewhere in the world the EU doesn’t matter is a contention that would shame an imbecile. The 27 European nations will remain our key markets in perpetuity and the fact that Boris has chosen to increase the number of embassy staff in EU countries while cutting numbers elsewhere in the world gives the lie to all of this nonsense. Brexit is a howling mistake.

It’s a fantastic stretch to argue that because the Scots don’t fancy leaving the union to reapply for EU membership that the Brexit vote has strengthened the union! A brief look at the tortuous deal over the Northern Ireland border which looks as though it’s made of string and spit set to unravel at the slightest touch proves otherwise! What the hell do you think the effect of Brexit actually happening is going to be? We haven’t the remotest idea what the terms of the trade deal are going to be. It’s incredible that you Brexiteers pontificate so smugly about the benefits of a process that hasn’t actually got started! You are in danger of shattering the unity of this country. You have already reduced the GDP, devalued the currency and thrown the famous £350 million a week down the drain with nothing but humiliation to show for it.
