Ok. what threat? Is the perceived one or just the imaginary one that you're 'pointing out'

Just a thought, but does anyone here think the characters who got us here - Messrs Johnson, Farage, Cummings, et al will suffer one jot from no deal, deal or anything else we end up with.
Another question - does anyone know why plebiscites (referenda) came to be made illegal under the post- war German Constitution.

For me in a similar vein of thought, this looming disaster will offer an almost perverse sense of pleasure that that the UK obsession with blue passports (Jesus Christ!) and imagined fear of immigrants will be shown for what it is/was.

Quote from Hermann Goering at the Nuremberg trials : '' .......voice or no voice, the people can be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.''

Enjoy the ride folks. Have a great weekend.

In the end, an NI in the EU in all but name was the only realistic result, be that what we believe is on offer now or something like it. Anything else was the preserve of propaganda emanating from Cummings et al (noticeable reality since he got the boot) a bit like the one about our sons being conscripted into the Turkish army, remember that one anybody? That particular piece of Brexit garbage is my personal favourite - maybe always will be.

Eustice was on Andrew Marr this a.m.and was eaten for breakfast when confronted with the facts about delays affecting perishable food deliveries and imports. It seems now problems for the hauliers are their own fault too.
What about fishing you say? I believe it's the same size as the lawnmower industry, partly because our vessels openly sold their allotted quotas to French and Dutch buyers.
In addition, where exactly are the German car unions and French winegrowers Brexiteers were wetting themselves over? They were supposed to save our necks.

RE. Alex Salmond, what's being implied in this article? I understood Salmond was cleared on all 14 charges against him by a jury at Scotland's highest court. So how is who knew what and when relevant? They knew about what exactly - that he hadn't broken the law?
His reputation for being brusque might well be accurate, who knows. Attempts to damage him further can't be right.

I've had an interest in politics for decades, and in our small town there was always a live and let live discourse at local elections. Until last year that is as our yellow rosetted friends rolled in. Never have I seen such aggression or arrogance. One of their 'community' Facebook pages was shut down just before the Police did it for them.
Right now they're getting all they deserve in my book. Without the £8m from Lord Sainsbury they'd probably be bankrupt now. Leaderless (always have been) with 2% of the HOC. Actually without their 4 Scottish MPs they'd be on the same as Sinn Fein and one less than the DUP. No levy anymore from their MEPs etc, etc.
