Except for the fact that this article lists career stats and he listed season stats. That was all I said. Fair stats.

A LOT of "ifs" there. We have a team I'm worried about this afternoon. Undefeated in the SEC garners respect from me - even this year. If we both get there, we'll talk about what a win means. Good luck in the game today - hope all make it through healthy.

These are great, but not one of them is a career stat. Once again, the Texas fan is a genius :eyeroll:. Most efficient QB. Best win percentage in the far better conference.

In the college game, Nordgren had the ultimate success. Manning did not. Manning also never beat Florida. I'd bet he wouldn't claim to be the best COLLEGE QB ever.

Justin, you never disappoint. The Sagarin power ratings are all computer based. Has nothing to do with television time. And Tebow leading the number one team in rushing and passing is a BAD thing? I didn't want to put opinions in this one - think the numbers say everything. You've been a ton of fun. Hope you guys do well tomorrow and everyone stays healthy.

I didn't choose the award or the voters. Is there any consistency to any of these voters or even their votes year-to-year? If Gerhart wins the Heisman, we're both gonna shrug and say "WTF were they thinking"?

I actually like the Longhorns and what they stand for and I like McCoy. And I think the worst thing for Tebow has been the neverending stream of nauseating stories about him. I keep telling my girl - we love him, but if he played for FSU or Bama or Texas (or whoever), we'd be sick of him too. But he hasn't asked for it and he's handled it all with grace. Gator Nation can't help but love him. Put a lot of my last couple of weeks into this and I've never even seen the kid from farther than 100 yards. And, contrary to many commenters belief, I'm far less of a nerd than I seem and have a life. I wish the Longhorns luck this weekend (don't think you're going to need it). Hope we get a chance to play this out in LA.

I am currently in the process of writing the honest appraisal of Tebow I think you guys are looking for. Sick as a dog with a cold, so it's taking some time.
They have a season average, right? You're one of those people that says - when we played such and such, they were in the Top 10 - aren't you? Even if that team lost five over the season and is out of the rankings? They were the same team then. If they had an anomalous game and earned 1000 yards one game, but averaged 300 for the season - that's the team they were. It's the reason the NCAA keeps rankings and they are utilized in every game analysis since the history of statistics. If not, why even keep records or anything?

Nope - actually wrote a congratulations article the second I saw it and said it was well deserved. It's the Golden Arm trophy. I don't refute that he's had a fantastic year passing the ball. Tons of yards through the air. Tebow is the most outstanding player in college football. Perfect fallback award for McCoy. I didn't publish it because it would attract more of the same comments from Texas fans. I haven't hear an original thought in days. Big 12 is better. Stats don't mean anything. You skew by looking at NCAA stats other than total yards. Unit rankings don't mean anything. Oh and - what about that game 22 games ago where you guys fumbled five times and lost by a point.

Look up - answered all of these. Large sample size is the NCAA rankings across all teams/conferences/games. Your brethren claimed those weren't fair because it's not head to head games and ALL the Big 12 offenses are so amazing that it skews the numbers. Don't look so "amazing" against the average SEC defense. And, as I said (TWICE now), included last year because 1) Texas-Arky has been used in about 20 comments/e-mails and 2) we heard this same ridiculous argument about last years' stellar offenses.

LOL. Dude I stopped replying because I can't keep up with all the comments. I catch them on the first level reply and then lose the thread. Getting a LOT of hate mail/comments. :) That loss was a lot less of Snead/Tebow and a lot more the five fumbles (three in the red zone). But I hear you. Again, it is obvious (read the latest post) that no matter what I post to Texas fans I am skewing stats (even though I am cutting and pasting actual stats directly from the NCAA). I hope we're both able to win this weekend (think our game is in far more doubt than yours) and the teams have the chance to be healthy and settle it on the field.

HE15MAN.NET : SEC Defense vs. Big 12 Offense

The argument I've been received is that Big 12 Defenses are ranked low because the offenses are so amazing that it would make any defense look bad. Numerous comments have also said that SEC defenses aren't any good, but look good because SEC offenses are so bad. Yet in 5 of 5 games a lower (conference) ranked SEC defense held a higher (conference) ranked Big 12 offense to fewer yards than their season averages. Poor offenses and poor defenses beat "amazing" Big 12 offenses and defenses when similarly ranked teams met. This year the score was 47-19 and your best offense met our WORST defense. The two times the Big 12 won was when one of your top teams met one of our middle teams. But MY argument is asinine. :right: As for Mack not running up scores or stats. Don't make me laugh. Kansas game. Texas up 37-13...McCoy still in throwing the ball with 12:00 left in the game. Colorado game. Texas up 31-14 with 8:00 to play. Colt in the game and still throwing - taken out for the final possession (1:42 left in the game). Missouri - Texas up 35-7 at half. McCoy in until 12:00 of the fourth throwing the ball. Shall I go further? Go try to sell that stuff at Hook 'em Horns or wherever else you came from.

HE15MAN.NET : Gerhart for the Heisman...really?

I'll be honest, I've seen next to nothing of his season and I'm bummed about it. I live in Tampa and we just don't get many of the games. Looking very forward to watching the Big 12 Championship to see a whole game of that beast. I agree that it's a shame that defensive players are given last consideration. I'm a defensive minded man myself. Was going to include him, but other than stats - have little opinion. Also know in reality he's destined to a bunch of third place (at best) votes.

If a team puts the entire offense in one player's hands, can they get held to 82 yards and lose to a 5-7 team with the 81st ranked rush defense? I repeat - I love the kid. Just the fact that he is excelling at freaking Stanford...seriously gives me chills. I'm not generally considered a dummy, but I'd give (some body part) to go to Stanford (have two degrees, but I'd go for anything). But 10th in YPC for the conference behind his own QB? Help me get past that. Tebow gets about 1 yard less per carry (including his sacks) and everyone knows - he's just a lowly fullback that throws the ball once in a while.

I just smacked Mandel down if you watched the whole exchange. LOL. Kidding. I was a little star-struck, I'll admit. I read his stuff every week. I'm just some schlub with a little blog. Tebow has scored more points than any of the candidates against the toughest batch of defenses.

HE15MAN.NET : Stats Manipulation

Yes, I will demand a refund for my associates. LOL. Assuming we beat the team I'm actually worried about (Bama), we'll have plenty to talk about. I'll put a link to the site where I do my Championship Game Analysis (the one where last year I called Florida's D shutting down what was called one of the highest scoring offenses in history - the offense that threw for 387 and scored 45 (!) against your "vaunted" defense) so you and I can finish this. But here's the little secret. Our second string guy would have beat McCoy out for the job had he not decided to come to Florida and sit behind the great Tebow. I'll be getting you your four years of information when I can get to finishing it. I haven't had time to "manipulate" it (meaning cutting and pasting directly from NCAA.org. And I'll stop skewing the stats. I'll say the two pass defenses you've faced in the Top 70 rather than the Top 40. I thought I was doing you a favor.
