TL;DR The plot was G3 and bland, but the gags were on point, some of the best I have seen. A lot of throwaway moments I enjoyed individually, but not enough to convince me to rewatch it.

Right near the end they said how they love accents and are probably going to have some in the game. And they said how Pom definitely needs to have a New Zealand(ian? inian?) accent. And now all I can think is that everyone is expecting Velvet to have a French accent cause of how posh she looks, but I REALLY hope she has a Scandinavian accent.

Anywho, after a second watch I have upped my stance on this movie when I think about it from a different angle. Everyone has been talking about this as the potential for an Equestria Girls spin-off series, and if that is so, then this movie is golden. Heck, even if there are just more movies from here on out this is golden. This movie is not a stand-alone success, it's the groundwork for things to come (hopefully). It shows post-redemption Sunset becoming more comfortable in her place at Canterlot High. It establishes the concept that even though magic pervades this world and everyone is coming to terms with it, it's not the sole source of problems in this world. Everyone was disappointed by how little screen time Crystal Prep's Anti-Mane 6 got, but if this is just a place to introduce them and establish them as potential reoccurring (fr)enemies, then they did a good job on that note. Plus they got Alter-Twilight to CHS, and that alone makes this movie worthwhile. As long as this is not the last EG movie/show/thing and the Shadowbolts show up again at least ONCE then this movie served its purpose. Job well done writers, I was too harsh on you.
ON TO THINGS I NOTICED ON SECOND VIEWING
1) Pinkie, what are your eyes doing. Specifically, while Dash is talking right before the field reveal. That derp mode is too much. You have out derped the Derpy. It's too much. Stahp.
2) I noticed that Twilight's eyes flashed blue right before she opened the pendant but I just realized that they are the EXACT same shade as Sunset's eyes! It's a clever little piece of symbolism about them before Sunset straight up goes and talks about how their situations are similar. Kudos animation team, you always make me proud.
3) Just like in Slice of Life, all the equations I could make out on the board this movie all seem to be real equations even if I can't figure out their order or if they even have a logical flow. Good job on whoever if taking the time to research mathematical formulas at DHX.
P.S. I couldn't help (though I wish I could) but notice that some people in this comment section said that there were spoilers in this movie even though I have been avoiding spoilers like the plague. But if there really are spoilers in here for the final episode, I REALLY want to see one of the little portals from this movie slip into the background of this season's finale. Yay for continuity finally going both ways, not just from the show into the movies, but from the movies back.

That being said, the little things made it for me. My favorite three things from this movie were:
1) Evil Twilight's voice. So smooth, so good. God bless Tara, about time she got to work her stuff again.
2) The evil villain's song. Disney villain's everywhere would be proud.
3) EG world Twilight looked even better than Equestria Twilight with her hair down. Maybe it's the glasses, or the wavyness of her little ear bangs. Just something about it looked to nice.

I am looking forward to that newspony's face becoming a meme. Looking forward intently.
That ending pony. Straight outta left field. And her cutiemark IS HER FACE, HOW DOES THAT EVEN?
Twi is canon best princess?
Goth pony is now second favorite pony after moon princess. I learn something new about myself with every episode.
The moment Sassy Saddles renamed Rarity's dress to "The Princess Dress" you know what I thought? No shit? "Is that Hasbro's marketing department? Is this whole episode going to be one long allegory about the writers (maybe even Lauren herself -gasp-) slaving under the demands of marketing to make something that sells rather than something unique?" My opinion at the end? It may have just been.

Also, Alicorn Big Mac. We knew the writers were listening. We knew the animators were watching. We never knew what this would truly mean. God help us all, and may mankind forgive us for our hubris.
