I love both Kidby's and the Collectors Library Edition :)

I both love and hate this section.

The section with Vimes and Helmclever is so intense, chilling and heartbreaking, and I believe it is one of the finest pieces of literature ever written.

On the other hand, Angua's subplot feels really out of place, and it bothers me. Here we see Angua, friend of both Nobby and Tawnee, essentially try to break up the relationship between two people who evidently really appreciate each other and enjoy the company of each other, due to a belief that they don't "deserve" each other purely based on look. It's just uncomfortable and I can't sympathise at all with Angua in this.

Ha, I wonder if I'm the only one who did this. I didn't actually read the Discworld series in order. Back then, I would walk into a library or bookstore and grab whatever DW books that happened to be available there. Eventually, I managed to get through all of them except for AHFoS, which I just couldn't find for some reason.

Next week will be interesting, because A Hat Full of Sky is the only Discworld book that I haven't read.

I wouldn't say Jackrum is unlikable. As a character (and perhaps as someone you interact with IRL once or twice), he is very charismatic and likable. But as a person, Jackrum is a horrible role model, and not someone you'd necessarily want to be friends with.

I can't be the only one thinking Froc and the Duchess had a thing, right?

I'm sorry, but I very much don't agree with you.

I love Mark, but in my opinion, he is just not very good at grasping subtleties, and is prone to drawing the wrong conclusion or having plot points fly over his head when things are not *explicitly* pointed out in text (see the SGM).

Is it just me, or does William look a lot like Spirou here?
