If you are wanting the government to protect people from their own depravity, we would be just as well off re-electing our current Nanny-in-Chief. You can't have limited government in only the areas you choose. You either choose liberty, and let individuals and the communities they live in deal with the moral issues, or you depend on the state to tell you what is right and wrong.

I do believe that was their intent with this: Get the union business passed regardless of whether the democrats showed up, and now that it isn't part of the budget discussion anymore, they shouldn't have any qualms about showing up to do the work they were elected to do. It has always been about the budget, the limits placed upon the unions are just a bonus.
