I was the reporter on this story. While Daise acknowledged that she owed some back rent, she said Regency was asking for money from a few years ago that she doesn't believe she owes. I should written that she owes some back rent but disputes the amount Regency claims is due. I apologize for leaving out that fuller explanation.

To clarify, residents have complained for years about the conditions of the park. But without housing or rental codes, the county, and therefore the Sheriff's Office, has had no recourse. While the sheriff said they're still determining the focus of the investigation, it would seem they'll look at those issues with the titles and back taxes. Those are new accusations, as far as I'm aware.

The story is about the "comprehensive" high schools, as it says in the second paragraph. No one is dicounting Tate. It serves an important role in the school system, but as an alternative shool, it's a different role than City and West.

Just an FYI, that survey is a few months old. Some of the numbers have changed slightly, and FEMA says it will now pick up the county's share (that's the $440,00 figure referenced in the story).

Grinch23, that's in the story, actually. The three systems had a ridership of more than 6 million last year, tops in the state. A bit of an update: Assistant City Administrator Ellen Habel said the Census Bureau people they've talked with told them the addresses are only used to get the forms to homes and the count is based on tract and geocodes.

The city is to get me the info in a day or two. I saw a figure for the number of tickets written and vehicles towed, but I'm interested in where those occurred, which probably takes the city a bit longer to put together.
