It's 6:00 am and I'm eating pizza. Oh, well. 1. That image of Discord as a puppetmaster goes great with the composition. It's quite sinister. I like it overall. 2. Good to see Hay Tea make the list. I've been meaning to check him out more. His drum and bass is usually quite good, and this is no exception. 3. Great cover of a very catchy song. 4. Guitar was great, vocals could've been a little clearer. Overall, it was good. 5. Pretty good electronics from Flyghtning. 6. Nice touch with Freewave adding scenes from the show into the music. I also quite liked the samples from the dialogue. Great job! 7. Shame the funky slap bass from the orginal wasn't worked into the remix. I still liked it, though. 8. I'd forgotten about this song. Granted, I've only seen Friendship Games once. Might give it another watch soon. Thought it was pretty good, nonetheless.

Just got out of a Maths exam. Hope I did all right. Now onto pony music! 1. Great use of upbeat electronic. Vocal samples were pretty good, too. 2. Definitely suits Dash. Very fast-paced and pretty aggressive. I quite like it.

1. While I'm not a fan of death metal, it's not nearly as aggressive as some other songs from the same category. I think it's pretty good. The typography's a nice touch. 2. I hadn't heard of Zatslol before listening to the song, but I do like it. Might check out more of his work soon.

Equestria Daily : Spotlight Acoustic Music: It\'s a Lonely Winter / Still On the Moon

Best princess as a header? Excellent. About to leave to leave to head into college to do some study (and browse the Internet, because studying gets boring), but I might as well squeeze in a few tunes before I head off. 1. The whole Luna/winter atmosphere reminds me of Nicholas Dominique's Winter Night from last year, which is probably one of my favourite pony songs that I have saved to my iPod. Only difference is that Winter Night was pure instrumental, no lyrics whatsoever. MathematicPony does a pretty good job with this song, regardless. I like the piano and vocal work. Pretty catchy. 2. Always great to see 4EverfreeBrony make it into music posts. I really like his work. GigglyMaria's vocals are fantastic.

Rock? Sweet. Let's get cracking! 1. I love MarbleMac and this song is pretty damn good. Great vocals and guitar work. 2. Francis has been a pretty good newcomer to the music scene within the last year. That "You fucking bitch" line caught me off-guard. I don't have any issues with swearing myself, but you might want to stick a warning or something on it, Seth. Not everyone here is of the same age range.

Equestria Daily : Music of the Day #608 - And a New Requirements/Suggestion Gathering!

I think it's fine the way it is, content-wise. It's a good way for new musicians to get on the scene and I think it's fair to give them a chance at having their song(s) featured, no matter how amateurish they may be. As for the name change of Music of the Day... "New Beats", maybe?

As I mentioned in my last post, it's great to see the music section so active again. And more orchestral. I'll never get tired of the genre. 1. Reminds me of something from a Pixar film. Heh. That was foot-tappingly catchy! 2. And a complete difference to the one above. Very dark and foreboding. The chanting throughout was great.

Equestria Daily : Spotlight Music: Faster Then You Know (PonyFireStone Cover) / A Window To You / Tales of the Norther

Fantastic to see a lot of praise and constructive criticism in the posts today. Keep it up, lads! 1. Not really a fan of the whole BlackGryph0n & Baasik stuff, but I suppose that was a good cover. Nice work. 2. The rhythm at the start was pretty good. And then it leads into the ambient, mellow instrumental that Reverbrony does so well... Until it kicks into the guitar, which was great. 3. I like the art cover. Nice, relaxing and winter-y. Great use of the horns leading into the tinkling of keys and chimes in the song, too.

Equestria Daily : The State of Brony Music, Its History, Its Place on Equestria Daily, and How You Can Help!

I burned myself out early on this year. I listened to so much pony music when I went back to college in September 2014, which was about four months after watching MLP for the first ever time. But the music that came out of the fandom of MLP has always been my favourite aspect of the fandom. I'd look at other posts on EQD from time to time, but the music side will always be my bread and butter. Every day, I would arrive into college, go to my lecture or lab class, and then after it, find a free computer room, plug my earphones into the CPU and listen to and review the Music of the Day and Spotlight Music posts. I didn't really listen to much pony music during weekday nights, but when Friday night came around, I'd stay up late and listened to the music from the posts. I loved doing it. Hell, I loved doing it so much that I created an "MLP Music" playlist on my phone and rip the tracks that I liked from YouTube and stuck them in, which is now at 134 tracks. And still growing. When my laptop crapped out on me in December of that year, around Christmas, my only option was our shitty computer downstairs. So, one night after being utterly frustrated with my iPod, I went downstairs and listened to the music there. I hadn't listened to much pony music on EQD since my laptop broke, so I had a hell of a lot to catch up on. And I loved it, for some reason, even though the computer was slow and the dining room I was sitting in where the computer was placed was a bit cold. I spent a few hours every night drinking peppermint tea and listening to pony music. And I drank so much of the stuff, so drinking peppermint tea is now synonymous with listening to MLP fan music for me. It's weird. Might get a cup in a bit. I have Spotlight music to catch up on. A few of the memorable songs I saved during my time downstairs with that crap computer during Christmas of 2014: • Fluttersky - Seven Ponies (Coloriot Remix) • &I - Into the Green (feat. Chi Chi) • All Levels at Once - Pony Should Pony Pony • Nicolas Dominique - Winter Night The last one is one of my absolute favourites in my playlist. Just reminds me of winter, Christmas and generally that time I spent on my family's computer downstairs. I love it, and I never get tired of hearing it come on. Anyway, I'd listen to the playlist every day, practically, mainly on the bus going into college, and it'd put me in a great mood, especially if I had just discovered a great new song from EQD the day before. Sure, I'd deviate from time to time to listen to other music like Dire Straits or Mark Knopfler (huge fan), but I always loved the stuff the MLP fans churned out. My favourite brony musician would probably be Evening Star. I'm a huge fan of Marcus' work, both of his pony music and his other music, especially his two albums, Grand Flying Machines and Liberation. Overall, for suggestions, I'd love to see some musician interviews and album reviews. They'd be fantastic, and would help shine some light on lesser-known artists or works.

Equestria Daily : EQD Improvement Discussion: What do you like to see us post most? Why did you stop following a speci

1. What made you stop checking out music posts? I stopped checking out the music on EQD during the middle of the year, but have since gotten back into it during the past month or so. I guess I burned myself out and got bored, because I listened to the MotD and Spotlight Music posts daily and reviewed the songs when I got the chance. I still enjoy checking out the new music. 2. Are you more likely to view a music post if it has a name you recognize? Do you check the other music bundled with it? To be honest, if it's good for my tastes, the odds are I'll download the song, regardless of who it's by. Artists that I like who get featured are just a bonus. 3. What would make these posts better? Maybe votes on the best song in a MotD/Spotlight Music post to compile for a top 10/25 song countdown at the end of the month? I'd like that.

Yeah, Christmas is now over. How depressing. At least I have a bit of pony music to listen to. Let's get cracking. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________ 1. Yay! Drugs! Not really. Makes for a trippy track, though. Liked the vocal glitching of "The rappin' Hist'ry of the Wonderbolts". 2. The sombre tones are a perfect match for the season we're in and the short film itself. I might give Snowdrop another watch soon. Lovely track. 3. Good bit of catchy electronic, but as A1X mentioned, it can be a little repetitive. The cover image used looks pretty cool, though. 4. Fourteen minutes? Impressive. I've always loved long orchestral, and this seems to be no exception. 5. The stoppages throughout were unfortunate. Good remix, though. 6. I've seen that cover image quite a few times and I love it. So dark. Great guitar work on the song. 7. There needs to be more swing in the fandom. That was so uplifting! 8. Wasn't really mad on the original. I felt it was kind of weak as a season finale song. I like the remix, though.
