Pretty sure the fire and policemen's unions have been complaining about a need for more rank and file members for a while now.

As for DC's fire department - they have a population density 1/5 of that of Hoboken. The reason DC has more firemen than Hoboken on a population basis is much of the city is office buildings and they have massive parks and open spaces. They also have a massive mass transit system, a bunch of museums, an airport just across the river, tons of potential terrorist targets, 2 stadiums, etc.... Hoboken has absolutely no need for as many per capita firefighters as DC.

She isn't running for reelection so no, I don't see this as being political. She is done with politics. She is making decisions, putting it all out there and letting the people know why she is doing it. And she is watching the politicians scramble and be all political in how they respond. She tossed her personal politics out the window and she is doing what she believes is best. And Roman, that is why we all voted for her.

But it is sad the CC thinks they were backed into a corner. There was a time when most of them also spent more time thinking about what was best for this town instead of what was best for their personal political agendas.

A person can support Beth Mason and still be right about Soars and Lenz. I trust scumbags to recognize each other in sight and sounds like you listed quite the list of scumbags, especially if they are backing develop or die mike.

I get that the mayor didn't choose the timing. Her hand was forced. Sounds like some folks are trying to play a fast one here and she is trying to prevent that from happening.

The cover-up is always worse than the crime. If there were discussions, it will get out. Anyone who participated should just put it out there in the open now. I'm inclined to believe the mayor - especially given the fact she kicked off the eminent domain fight so close to an election where her replacement is being selected.

And DeFusco's interest in this lot of land and reluctance to support the mayo'r eminent domain initiative just makes me think he is up to something peculiar here.

So folks, time to fess up and get it all out there. Failure to do so will just dog you from now until election day.

Well they don't have much to write about other than trashing Ravi. Not like anyone can explain why Jen would make a good mayor. Pirouette's paired with apparent financial illiteracy along with a healthy dose of delusions of grandeur not a good combination in a candidate. So enter stage left the mudslinging. Oh how some supposed reformers have gone down a dark path.

Hector, Jose, Raul, I don't really give 2 craps what his name is. I honestly believe someone pulled this letter out of their ass and made the whole thing up. Either let the author fess up and prove they are a real aggrieved person I am just going to work under the assumption this is another lame smear attempt.

Whether or not Hector is Latino is up to Hector as Latinos especially from multicultural countries like Brazil can self-identify with multiple groups. So when Hector reaches out to you and proves he is not a figment of some campaign's imagination, please do tell us which group he identifies. Until then, can we put this whole tedious thread to bed already? Thanks.

This might be one of the "politest" racist posts I have ever read and I find it rather disgusting. I seriously hope you have no connection w/ the campaign and you are just trolling here.

His contract allowed the board to let him go with almost no notice. He was let go and I for one think it was a great move. I hope the depositions are made public.
