The Mariners response to the Coast Guards overreaction in licensing safeguards, (we call it oversteering in the business) is for the most part to complain to each other. As Mark Twain said, "Its like the weather, everyone talks about but no one does anything about it." I am an oler Captain who has made the effort to maintain my health only to be put under the microscope by micro managers at the Maratime Center in West Virginia who believe they know more than my expert doctors who have actually seen and tested me. I have not capitulated to the, shall we say pin heads. Help stop this. Contact Senator Charles Grassley of Iowa at The Honorable Charles Grassley United States Senator 135 Heart Senate Office Building Washington, DC 20510-1501 Phone (202) 224-4479 We have to speak as one and act like the government really does work for us. The licensing renewal rudder needs to be put admidship and give things a chance to correct.
