There was no invading Russian army in the Donbas in 2014. The Ukrainian military and the Azov battalion were shelling civilians for eight years prior to the Russian SMO.

The reason you don't know that is because the talking head you listen to every day chose not to tell you that.

Now to answer your question. No they did not. They stopped outside cities in the Donbas area and shelled them for eight years killing 15.000 because they did not sympathize with the Victoria Nuland installed puppet, and for speaking Russsian.
