You have to have it, they know it, and can charge what ever they wish and what can you do about it - nothing. My husband and I own a auto repair business. If we doubled our customer's bills, they would just go somewhere else cheaper, as it should be. Where else can I go for health insurance? In the past year I have developed a liver condition, nothing serious at this point. No insurance company is going to take me now. Now that I am not at least a 95% profit. Shoot they may have to actually pay for medical care for me! Last year I was denied coverage because# 1-I smoke (I applied for smoker's rate, which usually means you smoke) #2-I was taking Fosamax ( a preventative measure for bones) and my personal favorite # 3- 4 years ago my son was having a rough time with addiction and I tried an anti-depressant for a week, didn't like the way it made me feel, so I stopped taking it. Since I didn't report this \"condition\", I was denied coverage. I didn't have a friggin' condition! Like I said, profit, profit, profit. I don't want the government running this or any show, but I will enjoy watching the insurance companies go down. We all form our opinions on all these issues from personal experiences, and as you can see, I hate insurance companies! Free enterprise, it's great. Invent something, make millions, it's great, it's American, just don't hurt others in doing so.</DIV> <DIV style=\"FONT: 10pt arial\">

I absolutely do not want the government at the helm, I just wish there wasn't so much greed and corruption within the insurance industry that helped to get this ball rolling in the first place. Last year we were turned down from one company for extremely bogus reasons. I wrote them a letter telling them just what I thought of them and they sent me a gift! No insurance, but a gift! Hah! I wish we could just eliminate the middle man and pay directly into a medical group. Help! I received my statement yesterday from my health insurance co. On September 1st our premium jumps from $750/month to $1250/month!!!!!!!!!!!!! My husband and I own a small business and we either have to drop the insurance or pass this cost on to our customers and don't like either of those solutions. Monday I will call them and see what gives, but I am scared. My husband refuses to pay that and I am scared to go without insurance.

I'm afraid that most Obama followers watched the stimulus news conference to see if they would get any "free" money. They already get free health care so they didn't need to watch that one. I don't know how long the workers will be able to support the non-workers.

Talk about poor management! When the movie "Transformers" came out and it featured the new Camaro, everyone was talking about that car and wanted one. But was it ready to be sold - no. It took all this time and I think for a while all you could do is get on a list to purchase one! They probably could have made quite a bit of money had they been ready.

I see plenty of waste here in PA as well. Why do the kids have so many 1/2 days of school. Use up all that fuel rounding them up for what - an hour of learning? The school district has also closed 2 schools and spent quite a bit to build a new one! What???? Right now the state is repairing a 2 1/2 mile stretch of road in front of my house. I do not know what was wrong with it in the first place. They installed 3 drain pipes and are going to pave it at a cost of $750,000. I don't know a whole lot about these things, but that sounds like the state needs to shop around for better prices like I have to do!
