How exactly do you expect "The Media" to investigate a sunken oil rig in the middle of an oil spill?

Just rent a boat? Some scuba gear?

Jesus dude...

Bush's FEMA chief was an ex-horse show promoter with zero experience in emergency management.

Even if Bush had done his best, he would have still failed having selected the man for the job based on politics and cronyism and not merit.

Obama's FEMA chief on the other hand is Craig Fugate, a long time Florida FEMA veteran, and is probably perfectly equipped to handle this situation based on his intimate knowledge of Gulf Coast disasters.

You could but it would cease to be "brilliant" or "logical" if you did.

Was Obama warned weeks in advance? No. Was Bush? Yes.

Did Obama's administration leap on the situation and start combating the problem immediately? Yes. Did Bush's? No.

Did Americans die from lack of provisions and basic services because of the ineptitude of Bush's response? Yes. Could any faster more efficient response have saved lives in this oil disaster? No.

It's absolutely pointless to try to portray this as "Obama's Katrina" because that stained Bush's record and lost him votes because everyone saw his incompetence. No one that wasn't opposed to Obama is going to be upset over his response.

So basically, calling it Obama's Katrina is just another "bash Obama" circle-jerk, whereas Katrina was legitimate criticism of mis-management.

It's never going to be Obama's Katrina.

If he flew into the Gulf like Superman, used his frost breath to freeze the oil on top of the water, and then carried the huge oil-iceberg into the sun, he wouldn't win a single point with any Conservative voter.

Compare that to Bush, who was warned weeks in advance of Katrina happening, and had hired an ex-horse-show promoter with zero emergency qualifications who spent more time complaining he was overworked than doing his job, and there's nothing Katrina about this.

The difference is that neither disaster was unavoidable, but all Bush has to do to mitigate the disaster was send water and rescue services and failed to do it. No lives are in jeopardy from lack of basic provisions in this case.

Sorry. You'll just have to criticize Obama for EVERYTHING ELSE HE DOES like usual.

Obviously the correct choice should have been a ruddy, corpulent, white, booze-faced Southern evangelical Christian right?

And you know what's going to give us another century of tension with Iran?

Going in and bombing the homes, and the schools, and the parents, and the grandparents of those younger education Iranians.

That's a sure-fire way to turn them all into America-hating radicals. Killing people's families tends to interfere with their ability to "see the bigger picture."

If we were smart (we aren't), we'd just let the old generation die off and wait till the new one which we can work with comes to power.

But, we won't. We're going to elect some nut like you want us to, and he's going to bomb the bajeesus out of Iran just like you want, and we're going to turn that young, educated population against us.

Because our population is old an uneducated.

Oh boy just want I want. Political analysis from a website that's straight up admitting it's biased.

Maybe I'll head on over to "onlyconservativeideas.com" afterward to get a balanced view of this whole "health care debate."

Just so you know, communism is generally considered to be the Extreme of the Left not the Right.

If your going to condense political views into a 1 dimensional line, and then grace us with your insight on the state of the world, perhaps you could start by being able to tell your Right from your Left.

Sort of like Detroit or any of the rust belt cities?

If Brazil is a socialistic disaster they've got their future in front of them. Massive developing market in South America, large stores of natural resources, and a car industry fueled by locally produced ethanol.

That's a major advantage we don't have.

If they're a socialist nightmare we're a capitalist one.

Imagine if you were born in prison spent your whole life there and they let you out at 45. And they said, "Oh, he can figure it out. Just go get a good job. Look! A paycheck! Cha-ching"

It's no different for the Whale.
