Not in any vehicle I've ever checked it on. Yes, I've checked multiple tankfuls, making the same trips on ever tankful. In all cases the vehicle loses 10% of it's fuel mileage. Besides that, more than one vehicle ran like terrible with ethanol in the tank.

Which is almost impossible unless your vehicle was tuned specifically for the ethanol. Ethanol contains less energy per gallon than gasoline, every vehicle, including motorcycles, that I have ever checked(multiple tankfuls, not just one) got LESS mileage with ethanol.

Unless they used at least an 18-24" tent stake it should have been impossible to hit a gas line. If the stake was any shorter than that it's more the city's faut than the vendor.

Our neighbor is not big and fat, she drives a Yukon 50miles every day. Soccer mom?? Well could be, except she's got 1 kid and no plans for more. All their friends drive Yukons, Denalis and Expeditions and most of them have no kids. What they do have is their heads screwed on crooked. You don't need a mega-mobile to haul kids. My wife's family had 4 kids, they all rode in an Impala. Oh yes, I'm big and fat, weigh 270lbs and I could drive and ride in one of those Japanese cars, no problem. They're bigger than they look.

You sir, do not have a clue. Do you realize that most of the small town services can barely staff their trucks with EMT Bs let alone paramedics, and they sure can't spare one to go wandering off somewhere else. If you really want to help, get off your behind and volunteer.

I'm amazed it we're getting it done for $300,000, if we are we are getting a bargain. There's 3 deputies who's sole job is the rescue truck. Wages and benefits for 3 deputies alone is at least $150,000 probably more if you have all the numbers, and we haven't bought the trucks or a single gallon of fuel yet. BTW, you can't even run a volunteer ambulance service for $300,000/ yr, let alone fire and rescue besides.

KCRG : Driver in Fatal Accident Facing Traffic Charges, Again | KCRG-TV9 | Cedar Rapids, Iowa News, Sports,

There is a provision in the system that takes away a person's ability to license a vehicle while their license is revoked, hear it being recited often by the dispatchers when someone that is revoked gets pulled over. Problem is, it carries no more weight than the driving without a license. The ones they need to talk to are the people that are allowing them to drive their car, which happens frequently. And yes, the Linn county Sheriff's department will tow and impound your car for driving without license or insurance. You do not drive away.

This isn't news, listen to the local law enforcment radios for a couple days and you'll learn that a large percentage of the people that get pulled over are driving without a license, and many of them are revoked several times. Should they be on the roads? No, but what are you gonna do with them?? Unfortunately they have to kill someone before we can really do anything.

Thanks, looks like you meant ".625 bushels" which is what my converter says. So, .625 x 2 = 1.25 bushels/day, which at $8/bushel is $10/day. According to my Alliant account, over the last 18 months or 2 winters, my highest natural gas useage has been $4.80 average/day. Comparing hard numbers, it looks like $4 corn is about the break over point, at least comparing our 2 houses.

Patrol cars have to be left running on scene in order to run all the safety lights. The device in the story would allow the engine to be shut off as long as there is sufficient battery to run the lights, and then restart the car as needed to recharge the batteries. Sorta works, although I'm skeptical, those lights draw ALOT of power, meaning the engine will have to restart very often, and the load on the alternators will be higher whne they are running. The money saved on gas will come in handy to buy new starters and alternators.
