It seems like people still don't understand the situation, even after how well it has been explained. Technically, the majority of non-parody fan work is illegal. The only reason you don't see cease and desists flying every which way is because it does no harm to the company.

Unfortunately, this was not the case for Fighting is Magic. It contradicted the message of the original show, and usually this would be ok. However, because of how seriously it was taken, as a professional work, it directly threatened Hasbro as a company, as not asking the Fighting is Magic team to stop their creation of a very popular and well noted fan creation would inherently dispel the notion that Hasbro owns My Little Pony.

So really, Hasbro does not care how much we scream and holler at them, all they really want and need to do is secure capital and protect their investments. Sadly, this means no Fighting is Magic, not until it has little to no resemblance with My Little Pony.

The only thing that can be done is to learn from this unfortunate happening and move on.

I have noticed some of the mods in EQD being a bit prickish. This'll probably piss the mods off, but I think they need to calm down a bit with the removing/deleting/blocking/whathaveyou.
