Sounded like a proper old atmosphere Lofters. Lovin' the fact that West Ham are drawing the biggest crowds everywhere we go. COYI

From what most people are saying on here you should be more concerned with the play off Semi-Final. Going by the negativity that will be when our challenge to get promoted will end. I'm being honest , which I always am so I don't see the point in letting everyone know I'm not lying but, as I was asked to do so, will on this occasion, when I say that I've not looked at all. Bridges - crossing - when you come to them. Sorry to aim this at you ACH, as you're a good commenter, but it gets my goat (no pun intended) when everyone just has a go when we lose or draw and are ecstatic when we win with nothing in between.

I think he's stuck to a formula, away from home, that has served him well this season mate. I reckon he thought he could nick it by the odd goal again. On balance I'm more disappointed with what I've seen at home this year. We've got the strongest squad in the Championship. We really should be making Upton Park a fortress for sure.

I guess it's all relative Roy. Most Spanish teams are making the cream of the Premier League look like dinosaurs too mate. For the first time ever I found myself agreeing with Mark "The Moaner" Lawrenson this week. He put forward the question "If the 20 Prem teams played the 20 Primera Liga teams in order (first place vs first place, 2nd vs 2nd etc) how many games would they win?" Not his idea I'm sure, as I'm convinced he's never had an original idea in his life, but a good question all the same. I reckon the English teams wouldn't win more than 3.

Like it PH - It has balance and goals all over it but Allardyce won't drop Nolan. In fairness Nolan did have a very good game against Cardiff.

Nice idea but I'm not sure it would be workable birzo. The songs would have to be proof read and, by the time they went up on the screen, they'd probably no longer be relevant as they often refer to events on the pitch.

I take your point mate but I'm not too sure you've taken mine. There are many who would prefer to go to football & sit quietly & it's those people who are in an increasing majority nowadays. It's a choice really - the away fans can quite easily learn the words to all the songs & sing in unison and so can the home fans. It's not really that difficult. Songs spread where there are willing participants. I know the away fans all sit, or stand, together but the ripple effect of a song can spread right around the ground if people decide to join in. Most inside Upton Park in recent seasons prefer not to IMO. I took a mate to his first game a couple of seasons ago. He told me, a few months later, that he preferred the atmosphere inside the Boleyn before the game more than inside the ground. What does that tell you?

It's quite easy really - sing up! Instead of just sitting there tight lipped - make yourself heard. Perhaps today's fan is a little more reserved. Frankly any sense of decorum should be left behind at the turnstile - collect it again on the way out!!

West Ham Till I Die : An Interview For The Football Trader

Speaking of Harry Hooper I suggested that he be considered for Iain's recently published Haynes book "West Ham - When Football was Football!" as he's also my dad's favourite all time West Ham player. Really nice to hear of someone else who appreciated him. Your post was incredibly well timed jphammer. The old man has asked me to suggest some other players of that generation as he's currently putting together some of his memoirs. Many Thanks & Up the Irons!

West Ham Till I Die : Ten Things We Learned From Today

Pretty much bang on with the 10 points there. I was just a little disappointed that we didn't do better with our chances but can't complain - the team played well. To those who say that this squad is nowhere near Premier League standard I would argue that things are shaping up very nicely. The team that Sam Allardyce is putting together seems to be making good progress - coming together as a team with some strength in some positions. Yes they do need to strengthen in particular areas but I'm really hopeful that this team will continue to improve. All things considered I'm starting to like what I see.
