I just found out yesterday that my insurance didn't deem my ol car worth fixing, and has decided it's a total loss.
I have to go down to the tow place at lunch today and clean her out. GOOD OLD VAL, YOU CARRIED ME SO MANY PLACES. Through high school, through college, all across the west, from CO to CA, then in two different states with two different jobs post-college. You were rusty on the top, and a weird color, and a little grumbly sometimes, but gosh darn if you didn't get the job done.
RIP Val - I'm so weirdly sentimental about this car, ugh :C

I'm remembering a tumblr post where someone basically shit on people who volunteer at soup kitchens, because food doesn't motivate and inspire people - ART DOES.

Growing up in Boulder, my family would play a game where we'd count all the Subaru Outbacks on our way home - there were just so MANY. The Denver Subaru dealership consistently sells the most Outbacks of any other dealership in the world.

Growing up among many kayakers, skiers, and lesbians was pretty nice, I suppose. My lesbian neighbor called her Outback "the Lezzbaru"
