MetsBlog.com : Note: Church Blames Himself, not new Wall

Meh, errors happen, the balk is more ridiculous. And I'm not even sure I can blame it on Feliciano the rule itself is just weird. Also supposedly Sheffield is going to be starting in right field tomorrow. Does anyone think that makes absolutely zero sense? Why would you take out your second best defensive outfielder, who is way above average at the position, who's also currently one of your best hitters in a pitchers park like Citi when you have an extreme flyball pitcher on the mound? I wouldn't be shocked if Ollie had another "implosion" just because so many balls that would get caught as outs in most parks, or with Church out there, are going to be landing as hits with Sheffield.

MetsBlog.com : Quote: Manuel on Perez's Poor Outing

We're only paying Perez 3 million less per year. If Lowe is being overpaid then Ollie's being just as overpaid, if not more.

No but I've also never been a proffesional baseball player being paid 12 million dollars to figure it out. And like someone else said Dice-K didn't seem to have the same problem, nor did most of the other pitchers, and it's like Ollie hasn't been playing in New York for 2 years already.

But how does that help us when the season starts? It's not like we have anyone better to replace his spot in the rotation. Benching a player who isn't hustling/trying/producing isn't the same as benching a starting pitcher who is clearly struggling for whatever

He's replacing Marlon Anderson. At least Sheffield is an aging player that's been good at some point.

I don't understand why Perez was pulled so early, it's not like it's a game that counts and where else is he going to get into game shape than a live game? I'd rather him work through that kind of mess now then in an actual game.

Lol Kielty isn't a kid. He's like 33. He's a career bench right hander, and with Tatis, Castro, and now Sheffield, plus possibly Evans there's really no place for him on the team.

Yeah I'm not expecting him to be a world beater but I'm hoping he can develop into a decent 4th/5th starter.
