Yay! I have no religious affiliation (nor a desire for one). I am completely fine with not knowing how we got here, why we're here, what (if anything) happens when we leave this place, etc. I have no desire in finding comfort in something that doesn't feel real to me, doesn't make sense to me, and in my opinion, can do more harm than good. If there is a god, I'm not a fan of how it's carried on.. at all. I'm not a fan of bullies or egoists. "Believe in me or else!" Yeah. Whine, whine, whine. How about you grow up? I may be off base here, but I tend to think that people (generally) embrace a god due to fear of death and the unknown. (Although.. I'm not overly thrilled by the prospect of dying, and yet...)

Curly's! I went there when I last visited NY 2 years ago, and was thrilled! I'm a vegan freak, and my friends went to the pizza place next door, and I was about to do the unthinkable... ask for pizza without cheese, when I saw Curly's next door. Mmm.. fries w/gravy and no worries. Yay! If I still lived in NY, I'd live at Curly's.

The one thing that made watching 'Last Tango in Paris' worth the torture, was Marlon Brando saying; "Get the butter". I laughed and laughed. I wish I could find a clip of that one line (damned if I'll watch that movie again) just so I can see if my memory totally contorted it to 'buttah', or if he actually said it like that ;-). Whatev! Buttah beats 'butter' with a stick! (Why that silliness popped into my head when setting up my Gawker acct, I know not. Twisted kismet, maychance?)

Agreed. I'm glad that you also appreciate it's, um... beauty and fine workmanship. Sadly, it's a print and not a painting. ;-( So.. someone has an original somewhere. Imagine the joy! PS: Someone wrote Lilly Martin Spencer on the back, 1869 and the title, but after looking at her other work, I highly doubt it. (Unless she painted this one whilst tripping on laudanum.)

Howdee Folks! So I glad I stumbled onto Crosstalk, then skipped on over here! As for le photo.. I paid a silly amount of dollahs for this gem at an antique shop. Totally an impulse buy. My friend and I cracked up for about 10 minutes before I decided I had to have it. It's so wrong, right? (And that makes it right, wrong?) It's actually called, "Isn't She Pretty?".
