What this proves is that public subsidies for NPR are unneeded. CNN can do the same thing without them.

$24k is way overpriced. Heck, in the US you can get an experienced and equipped assassin for $10k. And he is reusable.

Breitbart.com : Author quits Daily Beast after plagiarism claims

Posner shouldn't have quit. Instead of that lame "inadvertently" excuse, he should have claimed that he was just adapting the accepted music meme of "sampling" to a parallel medium, i.e., journalism. In fact, somebody else wrote this comment before me. Think I'm gonna crater to some jive accusation of "plagiarism"? Ha! Sucker can talk to my lawyer.

Breitbart.com : New aerial NYPD photos of 9/11 attack released

Something just doesn't make sense here. Why would ABCnews, which has not shown footage of the WTC attack for nearly ten years, file this FoI request? Photos are okay but video is not? ABC is a video medium, not a newspaper.

Tesco is inviting an "Improv Everywhere" event. Ladies, give to them in the nuts section. I suggest trench-coats over your skimpiest nities, three videocams and a musical number ("Climb Every Mountain" from "The Sound of Music", perhaps?). Do it good, down & dirty and I promise every honest man in Britain will stand up for you!

Breitbart.com : More suspected terrorists moved to watch lists

Wrongo Defcon! Those Yemenis would be Muslims, and listing them would be Profiling, which would be a bad thing, of course. The half million people on the Watch List are American Soldiers because, as Ms. Napolitano said clearly in April as you must recall, Verterans may be recruited by "right wing extremist" groups.

Big Hollywood : 2009's Idiots of the Year!

A young pet monkey had an accident and needed a brain transplant. The veterinarian told the monkey's human family, "Brains are very expensive, and you will have to pay the cost yourselves." "Well, how much does a brain cost?" asked the family. "For a male brain, $500,000. For a female brain, $200,000," replied the vet. All the men in the family nodded because they thought they understood. But the mother was unsatisfied and asked, "Why the difference in price between male and female brains?" "Standard pricing practice," said the vet. "The female brains have to be marked down because they’ve actually been used!".

Sorry for taking so long to reply. What with new years & the clean up (not just cups & plates, humans too) it's been a bit of a ride. Anyhow, I have been researching monkey jokes and found that they are either a) for kids or b) too sexually oriented for me to send to a woman I hardly know. I do find your commentary interesting & intelligent (not to mention grammatical, a rarity on the internet). If you are inclined, I would like to continue our dialog, but it probably should move from here as I don't know how long this thread will be maintained. My e-mail address is gbrown (at) alum.mit.edu. The "g" is for George. Yes, as in that famous monkey Curious George. I did find one appropriate joke & will post it separately. Hope to hear from you, George

Actually yes. And I love the city despite it's problems. In fact, I've written a piano sonata, "Detroit Rhapsody", that I'll be recording this year. Detroit has a great new mayor, Dave Bing - basketball great with the Detroit Pistons who went on to found Bing Steel. Driven, dedicated and practical with no future political ambitions. A black gentleman whose success was based on talent, not racial stuff. You should look him up.

Breitbart.com : Chavez: US spy plane violated Venezuela\'s airspace

BOYCOTT CITGO. That is something that any American citizen can do. CITGO is the marketing arm of Venezualan gasoline in the United States. Don't buy it! Even if Washington can't figure out what to do about Chavez, we can simply buy our gas somewhere else. And we can turn off our TVs when a baseball game is broadcast from Boston's Fenway Park, because there is a big CITGO sign over the left field seats. (Props to 7-11 for yanking their CITGO pumps.)

Thanks, Mr. Phillips. Well written. Keep it up. You might add Little Rock to your quivver. It was Democrat Gov. Orval Faubus who ordered the Arkansas National Guard to block the enrollment of nine black children at Little Rock Central High School, in defiance of a unanimous Supreme Court decision. And Republican president Dwight Eisenhower, who nationalized the Arkansas Guard, ordered them back to their armories and sent in the 101st Airborne Division to protect the black students.

Freedom Watch With The Judge : Podcast: 11/11/2009 Freedom Watch 56 w/ Gary Johnson, Shelly Roche, Lew Rockwell, Peter Schiff

Your Honor - In case you are unaware, in your segment with the guy running in the Arizona primary against McCain. Outside your window, a FedEx truck was parked, always in the scene. Look, you are among friends. The segment, Judge, was sponsored by FedEx. You just can't be doing that or letting anyone else. If you did not know about this, hooboy, I will cater the coffee free to that meeting. By the way, I may be running for the Ohio House of Representatives as, shall we say, an independent-Repubican. There is an interesting political science experiment proposed in this campaign. It is about technologically expanding democracy in a way that may work. We shall see. Your honor, if you are interested in talking, I am. I am not going to say that I have been a huge fan of yours since the day you landed at Fox, because that would be a FedEx Truck. I'm sure your web people can give you my MIT e-mail address. Okay, now off the record, dude, you are the one guy on TV I would like as a friend.
