Commentary Magazine : The Obama Ground Game Myth

I don't think that the outcome turns very much on how many appearances Romney makes in this state or that. However, history shows that investment of other resources is often important in moving a few percentage points of the vote toward one candidate or another. But content is more important than the dollars spent. Romney has the problem of not having spent much if any money in Pennsylvania, and the problem that his ads are not as direct as they could be. He should be deploying effective ads like the one from 1988 that reminded voters of Mike Dukakis' blunder in furloughing Willie Horton. Instead he's running (here in Virginia) an idiotic commercial that touts nonsense about "reaching across the aisle." I don't want him reaching across any aisle to the socialists who would happily plunge a knife in his heart - and the Constitution - if they could. So I guess I agree with your fundamental point that inept campaign strategy on the part of the Romney team could produce a win for Obama. My hope is that overall the Romney team is better than that. And on balance I have to give them credit for closing strongly in several of the Midwestern primaries.

Those other countries where the people supposedly do not approve of Mitt Romney (not that more than 1% of them would have any accurate information about him) will be the first to ask the US to come to their aid when they get into trouble. As to voting only by "Americans," unfortunately, Somalis and other foreign nationals are being bussed to the "early voting" locations by the hundreds (if not thousands) by their Democrat "interpreters" (handlers) in Ohio. The Republicans have no one who speaks Somali, so there's no way to confirm that these people are citizens. It's highly doubtful that they ARE citizens, because knowledge of English is required for citizenship (with a few exceptions not relevant here).

Big Peace : Romney: America's First Hispanic President?!

Romney's family have always been faithful members of the mainstream LDS Church. They ended the practice of polygamy after the Church terminated it pursuant to revelation in 1890. In contrast, Warren Jeffs group is a tiny ragtag crew of dissenters who were thrown out of the legitimate LDS Church about a hundred years ago. Jeffs makes a pretense of prophetic powers but in reality he's more like a pious Mafia boss. Polygamy was illegal in Mexico long before the Mormons arrived. However, the Mexican authorities appreciated the hard work of the Mormons to develop remote areas that had never been settled, and made no effort to mess with the Mormons' domestic relationships.

None of what you are predicting is accurate. Romney is not an advocate of open borders. He will have no power to dictate to the states any health care system. He understands that under the Tenth Amendment that will be none of his business as President -- nor the business of the Congress. He is not in favor of cap and trade, and in any event no such scheme could possibly pass the House. Accusing someone of lies is a weighty responsibility. If you are going to level that charge, you should supply specifics. I have seen zero lies from Mitt Romney about his service as governor of the very blue state of Massachusetts. He knew that his options were limited in light of the 87% liberal Dem. legislature, and so chose his battles carefully. The role of President of the entire nation is a different one, and he plans to execute it differently, except that in each case there was and is a critical need to balance the budget.

Your points about the insanity of "affirmative action" (euphemism for unconstitutional government-mandated racial & ethnic discrimination) are well taken. The descendants of the Mormon colonists who fled Mexico during the time of Pancho Villa theoretically could claim the status of "Hispanics" to secure a racial preference but so far as I know they do not do so. They typically like jalapeno peppers and retain other elements of Mexican acculturation, but they are Americans at heart and too proud to seek special favors from the government.

Seriously "little boys"? Not having been to Iraq or Afghanistan, I hadn't heard about this. Maybe the occasional adolescent, which is bad enough. But if pre-pubescent boys are routinely being violated one would think that that would create half a nation of mentally disturbed men as the victims grow up. But perhaps the point is provable: a nation that is so out of whack as to execute someone for embracing Christianity, as is set to happen any day now in Kabul, is surely off its collective rocker.

Does anyone else find that number -- "147,228 photos and videos" -- shocking? I had no idea that there even WERE anything like that many photos and videos of child porn (even broadly defined) in existence. Where is this coming from? Obviously those depicted in the videos are among the worst victims of this trade in sleaze. Who is in charge of tracking this corruption to its source? Eric Holder? If so, does he even care about the problem? Or is he only concerned about suing the state of Arizona?

False premise on top of false premise in order to "associate" Huelskamp with "murder.". A candidate doesn't endorse every position of everyone who might contribute to his campaign. You're worried about $250 from operation rescue - how about the million dollars that Obama got from Goldman, Sachs? Further Operation Rescue did not "applaud" the murder of George Tiller. Even Tiller, who had the blood of tens of thousands of innocent babies on his hands, did not deserve to die at gunpoint. Huelskamp has never remotely endorsed the killing of abortionists, so your lame attempt at "association" fails.

Breitbart.com : Senate donors to Fla. Gov. Crist: Return our money

As a simple matter of morality, Crist is obligated to return the contributions of everyone who supported him believing that he would run as a Republican or, if he lost the nomination, would fold. It's especially galling because he repeatedly stated that he would NOT run as an independent. I do not believe that the polls showing him with over 35% support will be borne out on election day. Some of that is no doubt due to the fact that his name is out there a great deal right now.

Well, of course any "backlashes" against Muslim New Yorkers would be wrong, and considering the number of Americans dead and wounded as victims of Islamic "jihad" over the past 18 years, as a people we have shown remarkable restraint. .. However, the focus here should be on rooting out the Muslim extremists who will continue to perpetrate terrorism unless and until they are stopped. What, exactly, are Mayor Bloomberg and the Obama administration doing toward that end, other than apologizing for America, pledging to close the most compassionate terrorist holding facility known to man (Guantanamo Bay), attempting to stage trials that would shut down key parts of Manhattan, and reading alien combatants their supposed Miranda rights?

Big Journalism : When It Comes To 'Pollution,' Most Of It Is In the Media's Mind

So if a building occupied by a private business catches fire, the fire department is just supposed to let it burn to the ground and treat it as solely the problem of that business???? Liberals are such idiots. In case you think this is going to cost a "trillion dollars," you don't have any concept of how big a "trillion" is. And if you think the effects will be born solely by "red state" residents, as if all the inhabitants thereof were the conservatives you evidently detest so much, you haven't stopped to reflect on the fact that expenses incurred by businesses like BP, or any businesses, ultimately get reflected in the prices paid by consumers, because no corporation can long stay afloat by losing money. Therefore, unless you never drive or fly, and never consume anything that has to be transported, this will ultimately affect YOU.

Breitbart.com : Volcano emitting 150-300,000 tonnes of CO2 daily: experts

The notion that a molecule of CO2 stays in the atmosphere for a hundred years is bunk. CO2 is present in such tiny quantities -- less than half a part per thousand -- that it is constantly being scrubbed out of the air by plants hungry to use it for photosynthesis. If it were not for fires, animal life, decomposition of organic matter, and the great ocean storehouse of dissolved CO2, plant life on planet earth would largely terminate.

Breitbart.com : \'Obscene\' sculpture must go before pope visits Malta: mayor

Well, yes, the "symbol dating from ancient Egypt" is clearly the male sex organ, which was worshipped in certain ancient cultures. As a post-pagan society, theoretically Malta and the rest of Western civilization moved on from the public display of such obscene symbols about 1700 years ago. Critien's sculpture represents Western decadence, and must go. Additional point: the flaunting of such indecent structures on the public square plays into the hands of islamic terrorists. They maintain that the West must be destroyed because it is incorrigibly corrupt in moral terms. There is no reason why the Maltese, German, Italians or Australians should provide them with such graphic support for the terrorists' theories.

Big Government : GOP Will Win House and Senate

Morris may have the right general idea, but the math, especially on the Senate side, is rather daunting. Sure, it's very likely that Harry Reid will lose, and that the Republicans will pick up Senate seats in Delaware, Indiana, Arkansas and North Dakota, but a ten seat pickup is a tall order. Morris hints at this when he mentions the chance of Dino Rossi challenging Patti Murray and Tommy Thompson going after Russ Feingold's seat. Rossi is my personal hero and I hope that he decides to run. However, if he sits this one out, retiring Murray will be very tough. She has lots of money, None of her other challengers is well-funded. Without a loss by two out of three of Boxer, Murray and Feingold, I don't see how we arrive at a Republican Senate majority. And that assumes that Kirk will win in Illinois. Or does Morris believe that Blumenthal will lose in Connecticut? His poll numbers don't suggest that as a very likely result.

I watched that race pretty closely and I never saw any polling that had Brown up by ten points. The amazing thing is that the Brown people worked as hard as they did when the polls showed them 30 points DOWN. I contributed when the polls showed him down by about ten. But at the time he trailed Coakley by only two points among those who were certain that they would vote, showing that he had some momentum among the more enthusiastic voters. Your basic point is correct: the bums will NOT get thrown out unless conservatives, and independents disgusted with Pelosi/Obama/Reid, get the message out among the great unwashed throngs who typically pay inadequate attention to the protection of their liberties until it's too late.

In case you were attempting satire, however lamely, the "Magic Negro" parody was in fact non-racist. Th song picked up on the phrase used by no less than the Los Angeles Times to describe the rise of B. Hussein Obama. Rush Limbaugh didn't write it, and to my knowledge never claimed to have written it. The "drug addict" comment is an extreme cheap shot. You liberal are supposed to be compassionate on the subject of addiction, remember? Anyone could become addicted to painkillers. Limbaugh deserves credit for escaping the addiction. There's no evidence that he is "using" now, whereas Obama has evidently failed, thus far, to conquer his addiction to smoking cigarettes.
