MetsBlog.com : Note: Mets to Erase Doc's Signature

Have any of you guys been to US Cellular field? Wrigley gets most of the attention in Chicago, but The Cell is a NICE park. Everything is Jet Black (the teams color!) and the upper deck walls are lined with with blown up newspaper clips and photos of their great players. Jose Valentin hitting for the cycle had a section of the wall, and of course Robin Ventura had his own section too. Wilpon needs to take a page out of their book

Eh we cant really take away the significance of Lidge's achievement last year. Has any closeer every carried such a streak right through to a World Series Victory? And he did it with class. Theres a lot to hate about Philly and its players, but Lidge isnt one of them.

Holy crap its pointsguy! I always liked your scoring system. It lightened the mood really well during that stressful 07-08 offseason. Schneider hasbeen pretty good defensively this year, but he was awful last year. Ive always been a believer that if a player cant hit, he damn well better play phenomenal defense, like Rey Ordonez. Castillo and our catchers are seriously bringing down the lineup, and tbqh, bringing nothing to the table. Argenis Reyes couldnt hit.....ever, nor will he ever hit. But he saved us so many runs with his top notch defense that it was worth carrying him in the lineup.

I think its time to dial up Cleveland and see what it takes to get Victor Martinez. The guy is a leader and a lethal bat, Theyve got Garko at 1B, and Shoppach at catcher. Hes the kind of player that I could part with Murphy, Niese and Parnell for

This is getting really hard to watch. We've already lost more April games then the 86 Mets. But then again, those guys were winners. People come into our park, talk **** about our team, and our team just lays over and dies for them. Thats not tough. Thats not New York.

Except for the home run, he's gone the other way since the Mets got home to Citi Field. HoJo fixed his swing from last year, im sure Citi Fields new state of the art batting cages helped too. The way Wright looks right now, look for a repeat of his 2007 numbers, which were the best in the National League, by a mile. More home runs and a MUCH higher OBP then the Most Vocal Player that year. Of course as soon as the offense struggles, everyone will call for Hojo's head again.

I had to watch the Marlins feed on extra innings last night, and they interviewed one of their guys, I think it was Lindstrom, and he said that they all feel the Mets are their division rival. So the Phillies, Braves and Marlins all want the big bad Mets to be their rival. I would LOVE to see burkhardt interview Wright and ask him who the Mets biggest rival is, and have Wright answer "The Nationals"

Sometimes numbers dont tell the whole story. And I love Wright, but hes in his usual April slump, and a hot start is important for this team. Plus Beltran-Delgado-Wright won us the NL East. I really, really hate to use the word clutch, but if any one of our hitters is the most clutch, its Carlos Beltran. Everyone remembers his last at bat in the 06 nlcs, but everyone conveniently forgets how Carlos had one of the greatest postseason performances of all time that year. If ANYONE else on his team hit, we have a ring.

Bat Beltran 3rd. Wright is struggling, and hasnt ONCE attempted to take the ball the other way. Beltran is smoking the ball, and looks primed to repeat his 2006 season.

im posting this here, since theres no comment section on Matt's radio appearance. Matt, youre gonna have youre work cut out for you with these syracuse radio guys. The "yankee fan" of the two referred to Pavano as the worst "Trade" ever, and the other guy called Teixera the best 1B in baseball. Cant wait to hear them talk about the Mets and how we signed Santana as a free agent
