Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : 7/4 Gov Sarah Palin Steps Aside

I would guess that 75% of the people on this site and other sites like it don't want anything to do with either of the two major parties. They are looking for a true conservative and Palin has the star power to be that leader. I know that a thrid party is a long shot so is everything else that she has done.

The only thing that makes any political sense is that Sarah is planning to run for President as an independent or a thrid party canidate. Thrid parties are usually not very sucessful in the US but with so many people angry at both the Democrats and the Republicians, she might be able to make it work.

I agree, and your post is very similar to mine. Where do we go to put this plan into action? Most of the people on this site are still angry and vow to only support a "perfect" candidate. While that may be understandable, it does nothing to advance our cause.

Reagan_1980 You seem to be on line a lot. Do you know of any sites where the people have moved from being angry to actually looking for real solutions to attaining our goals?

My opinion of politicians is that they may start good, but they eventually live for re-election. I would like to see a one term limit for both the House and Senate. Until we achieve that ,we must live with the fact that politicians go with the weather. Our only option is to convince them that a Conservative wind is blowing.

Continued from previous post I suggest that we, in mass, join the LOCAL Republician organization in our respective areas. Most of these organizations are small and an influx of 10 to 20 new ACTIVE members can totally change the selection of candidates they support and the delegates that are sent to county, state and national conventions. This will over time move the party back to the right. For us to achieve our goal, we must all dedicate ourselves to remaining politically active for the rest of our lives. If we are not vocal and continually demanding that we be heard, if we are not engaged, then all the Tea Parties and Tax Rallies will have been for nothing and our country will be lost. End of three posts ( I wish they would expand the size of posts!)

Continued from previous post Many people look to politicians as leaders, but I contend that most are just followers and for too long the Republicians have been following the mainstream media polls and the demands from an ever increasing number of "victims" which has caused them to move more and more left. This is partially our fault because conservatives, in general, are too busy working and taking care of our families to be political activists - we are the siglent majority. (I hope that the Tea Parties are a signal that we have been aroused from our slumber) Republicans lost badly in the last two elections and are desperate to rebuild their party. I see this as an opportunity for conservatives. Continued on next post

I assume that most of the people on this site want to move the country back to be more inline with the Constitution and the Principles and values that are the basis of the 9/12 Project. I also assume that most think that the way to achieve this is by electing true conservatives to Congress. The question then becomes; what is the best way to achieve this goal, start a Thrid Party or work through the Republician Party? If you study the history of this country, you will see that thrid parties have had very limited sucess; therefore, it seems prudent that we take a close look at how working through the Republican Party might be the best way to achieve our goals. I agree with many of you that the Republicans have just been Democrate Light for a long time and do not deserve our support. My proposal is not that we support the Republican Party, but rather, take it over. Continued on next post

There seems to be a number of people on this site who agree that this is the direction to go. How do we get a section of this website dedicated to that idea so that some real planning can begin. The 2010 elections are only 18 months away.

The immediate battle to be won is to take control of the house in 2010 and we need all the help we can get to make that happen. Liberlisam is taking over our country because we have let it. Conservatives in the past, myself included, have been too busy making a living and providing for our families to be deeply involved in politics. Although Conservatives are the majority in this country, we have let a vocal minority set the course for us. To slow this run to the left the Republican Party needs to win the House in 2010 (18 months from now). To do this, they need us so lets use them to our advantage. Winning in 2010 is only the first battle in a war that I see taking 20 to 30 years. If Conservatives truly want to return this country to its founding principles, then we must all put political activism high on our personal priority list. We must take back our schools, our local governments, our state governments and finally the federal government. Many people look to politicians for leadership but in reality, they only follow whoever is making the most noise. Keep the Tea Parties going! Let's make some noise!

Term Limits! President - 1 six year term - Second terms are never productive Senate - 1 six year term - 1/3 elected every two years House - 1 four year term - 1/2 elected every two years Supreme Court - 1 eighteen year term - 1 appointed every two years by president + any vacancies We are a Country of over 300 million. We don't need the same people in government year after year. Also, elected officials should focus on governing, not getting re-elected.
