Meredith - Thanks for the kind words. It's amazing how something hits us, isn't it? It's like God says, "Right here. Right now. Perfect timing. Go." I love that. Blessings to you. GM.

GaryMo.com : Unspoken and Assumed - A Word Every Artist Needs to Define

Brad - Thanks for commenting, and for continuing this important conversation. I love the idea of coming up with new words for what we're really talking about. I suppose that there will always be a chasm, but I also think it's worth taking our best stab at lessening its distance. Blessings to you! GM.

Ah yes - the dragon. I hate that dragon, but he always motivates me to do something better. I'm SO GLAD to hear that you can see some light, and that you believe. Awesome! GM.

Chris - I agree with you - I have no idea where the sanctity of the coffee shop lies, but I'm okay with that. And the no-music-in-the-car-thing? That's a sure deal for me too. Thanks for posting. Blessings on you and your ministry! GM.

Yep - School is another topic entirely. I should also be clear about the Starbucks thing - Because I choose to do that, I end up going back to work at night at least 2 nights a week. I'm forced to regularly work through lunches, and also work many Saturday mornings. It's something that costs me dearly, but it's so very worth it in the end. Good luck in school! Praying that you cheat somewhere. GM.

Jason - That's such a great distinction you're making - between being creative and producing. My prayer is always that I get to do both - that my creativity leads to something beautiful being produced. That being said, I understand the sadness associated with the reality of your comment. Praying for you, bro. GM.

Jack - It's a great concept, but so difficult to enact. Floodgate is in its busiest season ever (in 6 years) right now, and I've let that hour go a few times. Hate when I do that. Thanks for posting! Blessings. GM.

Jason - I've heard that youth pastor's story played out in so many other churches. And I agree with you - there seems to be winds of change in the air with regard to pastors who are willing to admit honest brokenness. Thanks for posting. GM.

GaryMo.com : Administration as Art

Alan - I get it. Some of the bad administrators in my life have also had authority over me in church settings. With these few, every great creative idea gets squashed in the wake of insufficient finances (in my experience). I really struggle with appreciating them, and that's why I wrote this post. Thanks for your openness and candor. You are so valuable in my life, and in Christ's kingdom. GM.
