Greeting from God-Free Honor Michigan,
You are so right, our lives as Atheists revolve around an absence of any type of God. In advance of publishing my next book, which will be entitled, The Rogue Altar Boy, where I tell people how to escape the fear of any vengeful religion. I start off by not saying God because that will scare the hell into them. I have been talking to many believers and especially, Catholics. In order for them to consider a few points of my non-beliefs, I have to make a soft sell of my approach. I refer to myself as a Humanist. What I believe is that somewhere, sometime, something happened. What it is, I have no idea because as a finite Human Being, I am not capable of understanding. However, I have not ever believed in any of the made-up stories and Gods. People are afraid of what they do not understand. Being a Humanist sounds softer than being the Atheist that I am. Being an Atheist is like being pregnant. You believe in a God or you don't. You are pregnant or you're not.
Take care, and always remember, NO FEAR.

My personal enlightenment as The Gratefully Recovering Altar Boy has given me the reality that it is all made up and quite often, detrimental to a young person's developing brains. My goal is life is to help people escape the fear and guilt of religion. Especially propaganda spewing out of the mouths of men wearing colorful dresses. I have sorrow for those gullibles who have not escaped the bounds of the Holy Sea.

Fear,
It was mostly about the fear of committing a Mortal Sin if we did not go to Mass on Sunday. Since the ignorant and boring Mass was in Latin, we didn't understand a dam word that the priest was saying. So, it wasn't about socializing with other Catholics. Us kids had to go to attend the 10:30 AM Mass. At least we could act like idiots and whisper jokes to each other. However, if we were caught, we would be slapped by the Nuns on Patrol. Because our parents were victims of the fear, we dragged along into our Sunday version of Hell On Earth. If it wouldn't be for the fear, there would be sleeping in on Sundays and lots of Salami Sandwiches on Fridays. I am now free from the fear and bondage of the Holy Sea, and I have now become The Gratefully Recovering Altar Boy.

Fear,
Quite often, people fear what they do not understand. Theists also fear what we believe. Not only do they fear us, they also panic because of what we are saying will somehow rub off on their blind worship of many forms of their ferocious gods. The insanity never ends.
I am The Gratefully Recovering Altar Boy.
