If you step back and take a look at this whole healthcare debate it's really rather ridiculous. The Democrats are trying to force through one of the largest and most far reaching pieces of legislation this country has seen in a very long time on a strictly party line vote and with very slim majorities. They are also doing it in the face of significant public opposition. So if you get out of the day to day politics of it and look at it from a thirty thousand foot view, it really is rather remarkable what they are attempting. Another way to look at it is they Democratic leadership is so drunk with power right now they are basically telling the American people to shut up and let the all-knowing in Congress do whats best for us, and in the process they are leading the rest of their party of a cliff. I think it demonstrates that many, if not most people are willing to accept an openly gay person in high office as long as they are not a radical. Once again this dispels the theory that this country is made up of a bunch of racist, homophobic haters. Contrast this with the true radical and deviant who is this nation's "safe school czar", Kevin Jennings. He is clearly not a person who should be in any way associated with our schools and the vast majority of people who know anything about him would agree on this.
