http://www.conservativehome.com/ : Henry Hill: Sturgeon imposes a sweeping new lockdown as the Salmond scandal deepens

What's the point of the Conservative Party? After the awful Conference and now the backsliding over Brexit, the ongoing illegal immigration, and the unscientific totalitarian approach to Covid. I'm beginning to think I should have a refund of my membership subs. Boris has turned out to be a huge disappointment.

I found the one on the Civil Service quite interesting. Far too many of them seemed to be way out of line with normal conservative values. Lot's of trendy political correctness - no common-sense.

A doctor friend of ours, a specialist working in the NHS, had actually carried out research on this topic some years ago for the WHO and he recommended that we try and get hold of the drug if the pandemic turned out to be as bad as expected back in February. He also told us not to spread the source of the information as he was no longer allowed to express a positive view of HCQ by the NHS and he would be in big trouble if they found out.

"Herd Immunity" or "Community Immunity" is fundamental science. It is the result of millions of years of evolution for mammals. It is the way our immune system works !!! It is the basis of all vaccination policies.

Mmm... Starmer hasn't said whether he is driven by the academic mathematical modellers and their continuously wrong forecasts / estimates / projections. Or if he is more inclined to the traditional scientists who are basing their views on observation of actual data and understanding of biological & biochemical processes. He is probably is as clueless as Boris. It is good to see the Telegraph & Mail giving far more emphasis on the latter traditional biological science approach this morning. My wife is a Biologist and has said that the basics of immunology have been generally ignored by the Government, official scientists & media since they were railroaded into the lockdown. She explained to me all the problems of PCR testing months ago. But what does she know ! Since when has the human race ever stopped an epidemic by social measures. Silly marxist Lysenkoist nonsense.

Clearly lockdowns have failed. Just as scientists like Ivor Cummins and others said they would. Sweden got it right by encouraging their population to act sensibly. The WHO has now published data that shows that the Infected Fatality Rate for Covid-19 is the same as flu. When we look at the data we see the normal seasonal rise in hospital admissions for respiratory infections and an associated seasonal rise in deaths. We also see the huge rise in dubious results from the much criticised PCR test. Nothing to justify any form of ongoing lockdown, curfew, or masks.
