North Metro-Atlanta Politics : Say hello to Austin Scott as he walks past your house

Representative Scott is legislator and his job description is listed below; if you check his voting record I am confident that you will find him only missed a handful of votes over the last 14 years. John Oxendine and Karen Handel are both full time employees I encourage you to look at this traveling schedules and see how much time they are spending campaigning on your tax dollars. However, Rep. Scott is compensated for the 40 days between Jan-April that he dedicates to serving the citizens of Georgia. I think the walk is a great idea and at the end of it he will have in depth knowledge of the problems of this state and hands on knowledge learned from spending time with the citizens of the state. Can't say as much for the other candidates. http://www.legis.state.ga.us/legis/2001_02/senate... The General Assembly is required by law to convene on the second Monday of January each year and meet for 40 legislative days. Bills may be introduced in either the Senate or House, with the exception of revenue and appropriations bills, which must originate in the House. The Senate, in turn, is responsible for confirming the Governor's appointments to boards and commissions.
