Well put, David. So many of us have allowed ourselvs to be fooled by the invisible tax known as inflation. I just finished reading "The Creature from Jekyll Island" by G. Edward Griffin... It is an excellent source of understanding the financial debacle we are experiencing. We must educate ourselves as to how we got here before we can figure out how to get back on solid ground...

Exactly!� It's one thing to have a teleprompter for a lengthy speech... but a man who cannot form his own words to enunciate his true feelings... is either hiding something and MUST read from a teleprompter to be certain he doesn't give away his true intentions -- OR he has no real convictions upon which to expound!� Rather, he is simply a mouthpiece for the man "behind the curtain" or other puppeteer.�

When I speak my mind, I don't need to refer to a teleprompter to tell me what to say or how to respond to a question.� I know my own mind - and speak it freely -- at least for the time being.

First and foremost, THANK YOU for your service from a proud American. Insofar as PC - I agree; too much energy is spent on "presentation" and not enough on substance. The day after the election a family member told me she was thrilled that Obama was elected... I told her I had voted for Palin (McCain just came with the ticket) -- She was disappointed in me. She said she loved to hear him speak. She heard, but I don't think she ever truly "listened."

Thank you for your input -- A friend recommended "Atlas Shrugged" to me a few months back, and since then I've heard or read several others recommend as well. I feel strong in my faith, but will take you up on your recommendations as well.

I was unable to find a copy of 5000 Year Leap... but the bookstore at our mall said they should have more in next week... I'm looking forward to getting it. While I was there, however, I was able to get one of the three remaining copies of Mark Levin's 'Liberty and Tyranny" Since my husband wants to read it first... I decided to continue my book shopping and came across a 50th anniversary edition of Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged" So while the gusty winds are blowing in South Georgia... we'll be curled up with a couple of good reads...

I agree, but it would be ineresting to see what if anything would be reported if each member of Congress and the Senate along with President Obama and Vice-President Biden received just one book.... I am currently reading "The Creature from Jekyll Island" by G. Edward Griffin, a very interesting look into the Federal Reserve... I'm only a quarter of the way through... but it is absolutely mind boggling how a few men created this monster that has control of each and every one of us...

Congressmen, Senators and Administrative Officers, up to and including the President should be limited to one term. By doing so, they will actually have to work for the length of their service - and not spend half of their time flying around the country campaigning for their next term. Let's face it, if the President can't get it done in 5 years - and our representatives can't get things done in 6 -- they're not going to get it done. Period! It's time to stop treating our political leaders like royalty. When their terms are up... they need to get on with their lives... and not at the expense of the taxpayer. No more life-time full pay retirements! They're smart people; they should be able to find a job - It's America afterall!
