Breitbart.com : Justices extend gun owner rights nationwide

We should take note that this was a razor-edge decision. The court is now at a cusp, and one more Leftist judge on the court could spell the end for the Constitution. I thought it was interesting the Diane Feinstein made the comment that Kagen would 'breathe some fresh air into the court'. She used the same comments when Panetta was appointed to Director of the CIA. 'Breath of fresh air' is just Liberal new-speak for 'Progressive', as if retaining tradition and fundamental principals is somehow 'stale and musty'. There is a fundamental difference between Conservatives and Liberals as to the purpose of the Supreme Court. The Left seems to think the job of the Supreme Court is to find every opportunity to change tradition in favor of a more 'modern and socially-relevant'' interpretation of the Constitution. Conservatives, on the other hand, see the Supreme Court as the defenders of the Constitution, whose job it is to ensure that we don't stray from it's original intent. The Court, at least for now, has sided with original intent.

Big Government : Know your Republican Heritage - QUIZ #1

After watching Glenn Beck's last Founder's Friday, I realized it's no wonder we've lived with such racial tension in this country for over 100 years! The Progressives have used race to divide and conquer the American people. The whites are made to feel guilty and racist, and the blacks are taught they have no buy-in to America, and they have been down-trodden by the whites. Whites and blacks built this country together, and all the good WE created is being taken away by Progressive thieves.

Big Government : Sunday Open Thread: Muhammed Edition

First of all, who the heck even knows what he looks like if it's forbidden to recreate his image? For all we know, this is what he looks like: <8>O> Second... is there ANY Muslim that could give me JUST ONE REASON I should choose Islam over any other religion, besides the fact that I will be slain if I don't?? (Just saying 'because it's the correct one' doesn't count!) Thanks, BigGovernment, for having the courage to stand up to this ultimate PC outrage. If other so-called 'Defenders of Free Speech' had the same consideration for freedom that they do for political correctness, these zealot thugs wouldn't have the power of intimidation bestowed on them by the bed-wetting Left.

Big Government : Howard Dean: 'Kill the Senate Bill'

This health care bill has been a dumpster full of garbage from the beginning. All that's happened now is all the half-eaten do-nuts and week-old pizza has been picked out, leaving only the foulest and most politically corrupt dregs for the American people. This seems to be a recurring theme from our government.

Big Government : ACORN Document Dump: Trashing a Person's Credit History

The problem we have here is, ACORN helped put the people in power who now should be investigating these charges. No wonder nothing's being done. While I'm no lawyer, it seems to me there is more than enough evidence to investigate violations of RICO statutes. Two document dumps in two different states, multiple video-taped conspiracies to commit felonious actions, all while taking tax-payer money - but NO Federal action??? This is the definition of CORRUPTION. Where are our modern-day Untouchables??

Yep... I'm one. I'm tired of voting for the lesser of two evils. Voting for Mickey Mouse is starting to look like a good idea these days. Our current system has turned into nothing more than a political payback mechanism, with each party supporting their respective special interests. The average Joe just pays the bill.

Breitbart.com : Democrats promise jobs bill

Re: your response to B - I DO refuse to acknowledge what you say. The Senate bill is packed with taxes; Sen Carl Levin said today, "Higher-income Americans should be taxed to pay for more troops sent to Afghanistan". I can quote all sorts of references, even a news article that, coincidentally, says the US is following EXACTLY the same path Japan did. But you'll just dispute it. As for 'conventional wisdom' (not the same thing, unfortunately, as 'common sense'), and what 'most economists' beliefs... I'd like to know of ONE who thinks this insane spending is a good idea. Are you mixing up economists with politicians? They've done nothing but back-peddle on all their predictions about economic growth, and statements saying if we have a stimulus bill, unemployment won't go over 8%. And, of course, the now infamous recovery.gov website touting all the jobs 'saved'... that weren't. I know it's pointless to argue with an ideologue. So if you want to claim victory, you can have it. You are right... there's nothing wrong with the government spending us into oblivion. We should have free healthcare for all. If you don't want to work for a living, you don't have to... the government will feed you, and house you, and eventually, even bury you. And this $12 trillion debt will just disappear like the morning fog. I just wish I had your optimism and faith in the government! I'll leave you to consider one thing: Why is it that all the 'whining conservatives' are people who work hard for their money and are willing to pay their FAIR taxes, but feel government should be as small as possible, spend as little as possible, and should only function within the limited capacity set by the Constitution; while Liberals are people who think they know better how Americans should spend their money, who believe that it's governments job to take from the productive to give to the unproductive, and who believe that government should manage as much of our lives as possible, regardless of the cost? This is the crux of the argument. You either believe in government, or you believe in the individual. You either want Socialism or you want Capitalism. I am not here to change your mind. I am dedicated to helping my philosophy prevail, just as I'm sure you are. And while we won't settle anything here, I do enjoy the debate. It helps me keep my values and beliefs clear in my own mind.

Breitbart should pressure Holder, and even if Holder does his job, release the tapes before the election anyway. We need all the ammunition we can get to wake America up. They need to see the scum who are enabling our rapid disintegration into Socialism. Of course, if Holder was smart, he'd 'investigate', find no grounds for charges, and put it behind us long before the elections. I'm surprised they haven't done that already.

Granted, but even so, I think my example of the effect government spending has on the 'suit' industry is valid. There is just no way government can dump that much money into the economy without consequences. When government creates money and dumps it into the economy, there are only a few possible ways to get it back: A - It can pull that money back in, and destroy it. This is what Geithner is telling us they are planning to do with the TARP Bailout money. Bailout money, like that given to the banks, can be held and repaid, like many of the banks did. However, this money technically never went into the economy. The banks just used it to bolster their balance sheets. B - It can raise taxes to recover it, but raising taxes during a recession is even recognized by most Democrats as NOT conducive to economic growth. That is why conservatives want tax cuts. That stimulates growth, which increases revenue for the government. They could then use the revenues to pay back the borrowed money. This just doesn't happen in real life, though - the government just spends it. C - They can leave it in the economy and let inflation eat it away. This is the method of choice for the government, but it is devastating for the common man. And, given the amount of money they created, we're going to need massive inflation to pull that money back in if it's going to happen during the lifetime of anyone alive today. You just cannot tax and spend your way out of a recession. It's been tried and tried again, with the same outcome. The new twist now is, CREATE money out of thin air and spend your way out. At least with taxes, it's real money. I just don't understand why there's no more outcry by the American people than there is. I don't believe we understand the consequences of what the governments doing.

I am disappointed by the Tea Party group, too. But, I don't blame the national groups. It's more the local group leadership that do it in our local group. I know here, where I am (Georgia), we're pretty conservative. The problem is, most conservatives end up voting for the Republican candidate, and when they get into Congress, they act like Democrats, or worse, Progressives. I think we have to stick with these groups, though. The 'movement' is too important to splinter apart now. The best thing we can do is keep drumming the message home, over and over, "It's NOT about parties! It's about getting back to the Constitution and Founding Principles." If they can't understand that, then they'll get left behind.

First off, the Government, by law, does not function as a Capitalist entity, so that analogy is invalid. Whenever the government borrows money, it is competing with the Capitalist's ability to borrow. Second, if you think finding a job is as simple as buying a decent suit, you must work either in the garment industry or for the government. With more than 17 million people out of work, we could buy them all a decent suit for $8.5 Billion dollars and solve the unemployment problem overnight. Now THAT is a deal! The suit manufacturers would hire like crazy, and build new factories. But then, after everyone had a new suit, and the 'suit stimulus' money was spent, they would have to lay off workers and idle plants. Government creates aberrations in the Capitalist system that only cause more problems in the long run.

When you can't tell a Democrat from a Republican, you choose the 'lesser of two evils'. It's gonna take more than just voting Republican to fix this mess. I used to think I was doing my civic duty by voting, but now I understand you have to get involved in the process before the primaries, to make sure the right people even get on the ballot in the first place. I hope America is finally waking up. And, I hope 2010 is NOT too late!

Let's start by telling Government to STOP SPENDING MONEY. If you were broke, would you take your credit card and go on a shopping spree? I guess what you're saying is, it's okay to spend a Trillion dollars (which did NOTHING), and then try to 'make up for it' by spending another ??? (no mention of what THIS bill will cost)... with a few tax cuts thrown in?? That's a bag of manure with a quarter buried in it somewhere. Tax cuts are good, yes. But, cutting government spending is even better. By the time we get around to doing something that will actually create jobs, the national debt will be $14 Trillion. And, extending tax cuts that are due to expire is NOT giving a tax cut, it's just not raising taxes. Which in the mind of Pelosi IS giving a tax cut. That's the logic of Washington - everywhere else, it's called 'insanity'.

You hit the nail on the head. Our Government is either totally stupid, or crazy like a fox. They know how to create jobs, but they are taking advantage of the downturn to try and finish off Capitalism, and replace it with Socialism. They are creating a debt so large that a Free Market could never pay it back. There will have to be another form of quid pro quo to pay off what we owe to China. Perhaps the thousands of foreclosed homes sitting on FNMA and FHLMC's books?? Even if the elections were tomorrow, the damage they've done so far will take a decade to fix. It was comforting to recently hear Art Laffer say he could reverse all the programs put into place by Congress over a long weekend, but we've lost hundreds of billions of dollars into thin air since the Bank Bailout was passed last fall. Someone's robbed us blind, and we'll probably never know whom. We've got a lot of hard work ahead if we're going to save Capitalism, and we don't have a moment to spare!

The funny thing is, bobcc.... when inflation kicks in, that 50c per hour job is just about what our dollar will make our jobs worth. The unions are dead, unless they can find more jobs to unionize. Enter SEIU and Health Care. They drove all the manufacturing jobs offshore decades ago, and now they're doing the same with 'service' jobs. That's why they are focusing on the jobs that can't be done 'remotely', like nurses, janitors, cooks, etc. The end result under a Free Market society won't be more of those jobs, but less. That's why they MUST socialize America, like they're trying to do with Health Care. If the government is the sole employer, then everyone who works for the government will be in a union. This is why the government is not really trying to fix the economy. They are suffocating it with repressive spending and the inevitable taxes that business KNOWS must come shortly to pay for all this. That's why businesses are afraid to hire. They WANT everyone on unemployment, then welfare. They WANT people to lose their houses (to... who else?? Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac). We will all either be Party members, union workers for the State, or 'proles'. While Orwell skimmed over just how IngSoc came into power, Obama and the Congress are finding their way pretty well.

The real questions is, are the American People stupid enough to believe the Government can create jobs? Hey... they just created a rise in GDP!!! - but it was purely money THEY created and pumped into the economy! IF they manage to create any jobs, they will be shortterm-funded jobs they will dump on the states, and those will go away as soon as the funding dries up. The ONLY way government can create jobs is to STOP spending money (that they are CREATING), and cut taxes that Americans, especially JOBLESS Americans, can't afford to pay! I don't understand why throngs of people haven't marched on Washington, and shut it down, demanding Congress stop the insanity. For decades we were told that, unlike the average household, the government CAN spend money it doesn't have, because government 'works differently'. Well, that veil of lies is finally lifting, and we see that, just like a crack-head with a credit card, Government isn't 'different', it can just run up a bigger debt. And further, Government is YOU and ME, and WE'RE the ones who are going to have to pay this back. It's probably time we start converting Dollars to Pesos... if Mexico will take them!
