Sad to say, for me, outrage fatigue is setting in. As young as 14? That's pretty dang good for them. I seem to recall them trying to instill martyrdom desires in toddlers, even putting bomb belts on them before they could even walk. Why, in their culture, a 14-year-old could have five or six children by now. Certainly 14-yo's are considered adults over there. It is cultural imperialism that drives us to insist that their 14-yo's are children. What right do we have to do that? /sarc /sort of

Gee I guess I missed out on all the fun. As for the ALA, is there anyone more irrelevant? Librarians are only known for shushing people anyway. Though, I do find the thought interesting, that a guy could check out books on how to make bombs, or how to be an Islamic martyr, and the librarians would fight to keep their records out of the watchful eye of Homeland Security, but my constant checking out of books by Steyn, Spencer, Bruce Bawer, Andy McCarthy, Steve Emerson, (etc) might have them falling over each other to be the first to turn me in to some other creepy and illiberal branch of government! Does anyone really think they'd have the same drive to protect the privacy of people they consider their ideological enemy? I have a bridge for sale, by the way.

The only people who would do such a thing is obviously, people who are defeated, who are powerless, who are utterly at the mercy of the one making such a request, and even then they would do it with a rolling of the eyes, with fingers crossed behind their backs, with an ambition for a future vengeance and under their breath, a 'still, it moves,' as Galileo was reputed to have said as he told his inquisitors what they wanted to hear. It's a bit early for that.

The only way India could become a friend of Islam, would be to look at the meaning of the word 'islam,' and to submit, to submit to Mohammed the 'prophets' malevolent rulings, to submit entirely, without reservation or hesitation, to become slaves, to give up their pride and their religion and everything they believe in. I think India is a friend of OURS. They are sensible, Islamists are not, they are freedom-loving, Islamists are not, they are bright, wise, intelligent, full of vision and a desire for prosperity -- Islam is not. Islam just confines itself to a constricted purity, to a stifling conformity, to a slavery, to a numbing of the mind and a denying of humanity and all its potential, forsaking all for a seventh-century collection of bizarre fetishes, as dictated by a psychotic megalomaniac -- This sucks. Shame on these people for even thinking of it. WTF is wrong with them, that they want to be a 'friend' of Islam? Islam has no friends. Islam only has the company that misery famously loves.

Hmm... This is not a reasonable request. The only way India could be a friend of Islam would be -- well I am sure there would be several requirements, such as, if India's leader would recite the Shahada on behalf of all Indians, for them to unilaterally release all claims on the Hindu Kush, to stop worshiping cows and that blue dude with eleven arms, to pay the Jizyah and feel subdued etc, to allow Muslims free rein to take over all the towns and rule by Shariah law -- just off the top of my head -- This is not a reasonable request. Might as well ask someone to say that down is up and wrong is right, that the night sky is white and the sun is black, I mean it makes no sense. For once I agree with the silence of the Muslims, that this request is too absurd for a response of any sort. Might as well ask me to suddenly become a friend of welfare states, or to say that Big Government is the salvation of all, or that good is evil and evil good. Ain't gonna happen. If anything, this preposterous request, coming from a position of weakness rather than strength, invites only contempt and further subjugation.

Another news story corrects the headline: Six dead (Five police officers and one suicide bomber). The death toll will continue to rise, as it always does, the exception of the WTC being the proof of this rule. On the other hand, it contains this howler of a cautionary tale: "Chechnya has been the site of several bloody attacks since April when Moscow ended its controversial "anti-terror operation" in Chechnya..." Calling anti-terror operations 'controversial' results in innocent peoples' deaths. Plain and simple. No need for Obama to nuance the matter, to applaud the virtues of the opposing viewpoints on this. Let's see if I get this right. Some muslims complained to officials about the hand sanitizer they were issued, the officials swapped it out to one they wouldn't complain about, and then other Muslims criticized said officials for doing this. My brain hurts already. Wouldn't it be simpler if they just cut out the middleman (the officials) and let the Muslims fight it out among themselves? Literally, if need be. Maybe next time this sort of thing comes up (I would venture to guess, sometime before noon tomorrow CDT, as it happens all the freakin time) they (the officials) should refer the complainers to the MCB, and if one side fails to convince the other, they can battle it out to the death and leave us out of their medieval fetishes. I'm positively sick and tired of the complaining Muslims on the one hand and the lecturing Muslims on the other. I'm fed up. Had it up to here (pointing six inches over my head). Yes. An open letter is in order. Dear British Officials: Do not listen to any complaining Muslims anymore. Tell them to contact the MCB for a resolution to their conflicts. Thanks in advance!

The Brits. I almost have to admire their steadfast blindness here. I read in Bruce Bawer's 'While Europe Slept' that even radical Islamists are able to claim asylum in the UK because they would be tortured and executed if deported to their native countries so at least they're being fair and even-handed in allowing asylum in this case. And I fervently hope that an effective majority of UK natives stick to their guns (figuratively anyway) and tell the islamists in Britain who want Shariah law, that 'they want ice water in hell, too.' The upside of all this is that the vast majority of America loves their country and all these initiatives will wake a sleeping giant -- the harder he presses, the more certain that the liberals and Democrats will be tossed out of power in next year's elections. People will not stand for this. The tide will turn and it will be unstoppable. The only thing left is to pray it's not too late by that point.
