Hollywood Hubbub : Poster for GIRLS

I really like the show and I've found that the vast majority of the criticism comes from people who are either sexist, jealous of a young girl's success, or complain that their version of a female lifestyle isn't represented.

I think it's a funny show and I like everyone involved so far. It's that simple.

<p style=\"color: #A0A0A8;\">

Thanks. I never get why people bag on Part 2, or why people think something like Casablanca is better when it's clearly not. My answers were based on my Flickchart. http://www.flickchart.com/FranticMonkey

Hollywood Hubbub : PAUL script review

It was a little disappointing and maybe that's because Edgar Wright wasn't involved with this like he is with most other Pegg and Frost projects. Still, I liked the fact that Wiig, Bateman, Rogen and Hader were in it.

Hollywood Hubbub : Finally, a trailer for HESHER

IMDB has it listed for April 2011, but they've been wrong plenty of times before. As for reviews, they were kinda mixed except for the consensus that Joseph Gordon-Levitt was amazing.

Hollywood Hubbub : 365 Day Unseen Movie Marathon – Day 22 – SPEED RACER (2008)

I've never seen an episode of Speed Racer before and then when it did poorly at the box office I kinda lost interest in watching. I should have known from past experience that the box office take doesn't always equate to how much I'm gonna like a film. At least I've seen it now, and it's a gloriously fun and exciting movie.

I do know that Sheldon is the only reason the show's popular. But that doesn't make it a good show.

Hollywood Hubbub : THE DAYS BEFORE script review

5/10 is 50%. That's average. 60% is a little above average and that's the feeling I get from the script. As a sci-fi action flick I think it'll be fairly decent (assuming they do the aliens well) but it's Downey and Witherspoon who will make it better. There's every likelihood that the finished film will rate higher but what's on the page is to me just above average. I know they don't really compare, but I liked the script for Knowing more than The Days Before.

Hollywood Hubbub : KICK-ASS review

The main guy Dave/Kick-Ass was certainly trying to resolve his own conflicts, and I'd say Hit Girl and Big Daddy were too. As for the rest I'm not so sure. I don't know if I'd classify the film as a comic or superhero thing. If Watchmen was a step away from the superhero genre then I'd say Kick-Ass is a further step away. It's much more of a vigilante in costume story than a superhero one.

Hollywood Hubbub : Script review of Diablo Cody's YOUNG ADULT

I can\\\'t recall any redeeming qualities about Mavis. She gets worse as the story goes on. More drunk, more cruel, more conniving. The best thing she does in the whole script is take the briefest of interest in Sandra (Matt\\\'s sister) right at the end. Mavis is the ultra popular girl in high school who still expects the world to revolve round her and get everything she wants. Completely unlikeable.

Hollywood Hubbub : New poster for THE KILLER INSIDE ME

I think the difference in violence is that from the trailer for The Killer Inside Me it seems to be a very real depiction of violence. And I've just never seen anything as real looking as the violence against women that's shown in the trailer. Most other violence you see in films is somewhat cartoonish, but not this one. Just that scene with Affleck slapping Alba in the face multiple times. So unsettling.

Hollywood Hubbub : Previously on LOST - for my friend Peter

Yeah, I agree. I don't know how anyone can't be watching Lost. It's by far the best show on TV. As for season 6, I LOVED the first two episodes but the latest one was kinda boring. Then again, all Kate episodes are like that.

Hollywood Hubbub : My top 15 favourite films of 2009

I love Let The Right One In but it came out in 2008 so that's why it's not on my list. I absolutely hate the idea of a US remake of it. And only 2 or so years after it came out. Why bother. As for The Hurt Locker, I enjoyed it and thought it was a well made war film but I'm just not as impressed by it as most others seem to be. It'd probably be in the 15-20 range for the year though.
