I had a discussion with a "moderate" fellow who said "You fundamentalist Christians are as bad as the fundamentalist Muslims." I acknowledged that one could draw an equation, but did not know what he meant by "bad." I asked him to tell me what a "moderate Christian is?" When Obama said "I have always been a Christian," it was a clear indication that he has not the slightest clue about Christianity. One can not have "always" been a Christian. I've witnessed the oath of office being taken by at least two Fairview city councilors. An oath taken by police, soldiers, public officials, officers of the court, et al, is taken to uphold the Constitution of the United States, and the Constitution of the State/locality in which (or from which) they serve. The U.S. Constitution has an amendment--this for Ms. Jones' information, for we might charitably assume that it simply slipped her mind--known as the 2nd Amendment. It has something to do with the "citizen's right to bear arms." If Ms. Jones has difficulty with upholding the Constitution, and the laws of Oregon, then perhaps she should consider...resigning.
