Equestria Daily : In-depth Look at the History of Hasbro\'s Rivalry with Mattel, and Why We Need Equestria Girls

Hey, here's a site I haven't visited in forever. MLP's a great show, I wonder why I deleted all the fansite bookmarks months ago? Drama or something. Oh well, surely that's passed. What's this? A spinoff show? Hmm, interesting, let's see what this is about. (Clicks on first link, reads a bit.) Wow, that article is defensive. The guy's almost in siege mode. I wonder what ca- (Scrolls down to the comments. Digs further back in the site history.) ... really? Bile and loathing and accusation and recrimination and hyperbole over a goddamn spinoff? Good lord, did Hasbro make the animation cels out of the powdered bones of your pets? It's a television show. You can choose not to watch it. You can choose not to care about something so hurtful to your delicate pony cartoon sensibilities. I can't tell who's emotionally younger, the target audience or the trainwreck that is the vocal 'fans'. Have fun, children. Keep up all this love and tolerance.

Equestria Daily : Brony Doc Heading to Kansas City Film Festival

> So you're getting your jimmies in a rustle because people acted in a predictable, human manner: either fanboyed over it and defended it to the death, or attacked it for being stupid. I'm not in a rustle over anything. If bronies want to carve out their little territories and have their little wars, fine. Though if you consider that level of pettiness to be a standard worth living to or affiliating with, well, I'm very sorry. > No, the documentary creators were TOTALLY unaccountable for this, and had NO WAY of predicting this would happen. I'm not saying anyone's totally unaccountable for anything. I'm merely saying that demonizing one individual or group is disingenuous.

You say that like the portion of the fandom that caused much of the drama is somehow not to blame. Please. It was the bronies themselves that were turning people away and making the fandom divide, not "Bronies" the documentary.

I could see people seeing groups of bronies acting as emotionally damaged as trolls say they are and deciding to not risk being linked to someone like that. Not what I meant, though. I think I rather failed to get my point across. Allow me to rephrase: "Maybe that's what drove some people away - the unwillingness to *hang around with* people who overreact so obnoxiously." Some people just look at the whining and say "This isn't worth my time anymore." Not the Big Names or the SMOFs or anything, but the little people. They stop visiting daily because it's just too stressful or annoying. Maybe they comment on one or two random postings that someone else brings to their attention, but otherwise they stop visiting the sites, unsub from the subreddits, etc. No drama, they just.... stop. No one would notice one little person not posting or drawing or writing or singing anymore, but in a community driven by fan output, any loss lessens the whole, and the losses will accumulate, particularly once the explosion phase is done and new bronies aren't appearing every day. Ah, but it's all conjecture. Don't mind me, I'm just rambling.

Staph: "Staphylococcus can cause a wide variety of diseases in humans and other animals through either toxin production or penetration. Staphylococcal toxins are a common cause of food poisoning, as they can be produced by bacteria growing in improperly-stored food items." But then, maybe you meant to call them a disease.

Well, I doubt a set of wings would specifically do it. The series getting more toyetic (urgh)? Maybe. And yeah, she was gone before S3. She was gone before S2 was storyboarded because Cadence didn't have wings when she left.

She really sounded like someone who didn't want to leave but had no option. Honestly, we're never gonna know unless someone else cracks. She's held fast to her position for so long that she's clearly not going to say any more on the issue. It might be something to do with Hasbro, if only because she's in a business where you change employers often and speaking ill of the old boss means you can't get a new boss. Or it could be something personal, I have no way of knowing. But my gut says workplace problems. Medical and personal stuff don't necessarily close the door to a return. The... permanence I sense in Lauren's leaving makes me think it's the place, not something more transient.
