KOMO - Seattle, WA : Fed-up consumers planning for \'Bank Transfer Day\' | Business | Seattle News, Weather, Sports, Brea

Got tired of getting letter after letter from US Bank, informing me: 1) they were going to start charging me for something that they already did for free, or 2) they were going to do less for me and charge me the same. Their words made it sound like they felt they were doing me a favor. Had enough, and switched in August. Guess I'm not the only one.

Totally support your right to Open Carry, but it's safer for you to conceal. Carrying openly just makes you the 1st target for a bad guy to attack. Concealing your weapon (legally) preserves the element of surprise. BTW, I conceal carry with a permit. Every day, and everywhere legal to do so. And I sincerely hope that I never ever have to pull my gun in a dangerous situation.

31 to 41 months in prison? What a disgrace. The cynic in me wonders if lawmakers in Olympia structure these lenient sentencing guidelines so that their "best customers" can get out of jail and back on the streets as soon as possible and buy more liquor. Rant off.

Hey, if a cop pulls me over and I'm doing 42 on a bicycle, I WANT a ticket. I'm an old fart, and I want it bad. Please Mr. Policeman, write it using a big fat neon marker, and when you get to the "speed" part, use EXTRA-LARGE print so that my old-fart friends can more easily see it. Call it bragging rights, in your face take that, one upmanship, or whatever you want to call it, but that'd be something frameable! :)

Sad news. RIP. Darn good player. His'71 Colts beat my Cowboys in one of the "ugliest" Super Bowls ever played. EDIT-apparently he refused to wear his ring because of the sloppy play in that Super Bowl V. I didn't know that - learned something.

I remember this story when it first aired, and it didn't smell right then. And now the truth comes out, whaddaya know ?! I understand that taxpayers must indemnify and hold harmless those public servants who, through no fault or negligent act of their own, damage public property in the course of performing their duties. But this is nowhere near that category. Why should the taxpayers take it up the proverbial tailpipe.....AGAIN ?

That is very sad news. RIP Marshall. One of my philosophies of life is the "Marshall Matt Dillon approach", and it goes like this: You don't have to shoot. But when you do, never miss. It comes from watching the show as a kid, and in seemingly every episode, Marshall Dillon would face the outlaw in the streets of Dodge City. Marshall Dillon never drew his gun first, instead giving the outlaw a chance to surrender to the rule of law. But few did that, and when the outlaw inevitably drew his revolver, the Marshall always shot and killed him on the spot, and made everything in Dodge City safe again. They don't teach life lessons on TV like that anymore. And it's a crying shame.

"LOLOL...you really think they're just going to flush him in the ocean. It just goes to show how gullible the media thinks we are! He's on ice someplace! " I completely agree. Brings to mind the scene from "Young Frankenstein", where Igor (Marty Feldman) is supposed to steal the brain of Hans Delbruck, but instead takes the brain of "Abby Normal", otherwise known as an abnormal brain. Classic. At a minimum, you better believe that somewhere, somehow, the military has Bin Laden's brain on ice for future scientific study!

I'll probably get thumbs down for this, since I don't live in the city limits. But I gotta say, hey Seattle, that's some mayor of yours...... And I don't mean that in a good way. At a minimum, the mayor should have allowed the legal process to continue to a civil trial. Then (and only then) if the judge and/or jury decide that a monetary settlement is appropriate, then THAT would have been the time to settle on an amount and pay damages to the estate and family. I don't know the answer to this, but wonder if the mayor is even authorized to make a payment of this size without so much as a damages claim having been made? Does he need council authority or concurrence? Like I said, I don't know the answer, just asking the questions.
