WMPoweruser.com : What Else Do You Want?

I'm not too interested in 6.5 stuff since 7's coming soon and I'm not particularly interested in much 7 stuff since i don't have it yet. I suspect many others are in a similar situation.

WMPoweruser.com : Android On My HD2… Three Days And Counting

I sent my HD2 off to be repaired last week (due to it constantly crashing) had to hard reset before i sent it (for obvious reasons). i think i'll give android a go when i get it back since i have to have a fresh start anyway. The thing that finally convinced me was when i considered what it would be like to finally have programs work on my phone when i wanted them to.

I switched to bing a while ago and i rarely have to use google now. the main missing feature from bing is the calculation support and currency conversion but for everything else it's much better.

WMPoweruser.com : My HD2 Scare #2: Dropped hard

I've got a few bits of wear on mine now. you can only see if you look hard though screen has a few minor scratches but nothing more obvious than the dots on the screen. I was amazed my screen survived me throwing it against a brick wall. when i heard about the new iphone back glass i just laughed thinking about how there's going to be at least a 100% increase in glass breaking drops. the yellow screen and the genius (and patented) antenna idea are just icing on the cake. It's one of the prettiest and best phones on the planet as long as you don't try to hold or use it.

WMPoweruser.com : My First Week Thoughts On The HD2

I've had mine for a few months now and I am totally 100% in love with the device. however the operating system is a different matter. After using WM on the HD2 i now seriously dislike it. before i loved it but now with such a great phone the OS is a let down. I don't know why but my phone freezes (needs the cover taking off to reset) about 30% of the time when taking a call. It also freezes like this about once a day on average while just doing other things. This pisses me off so much. I still need to upgrade to 6.5.3 though which i will do as soon as you release the updated HD2 ROM. Is there an ETA for that? I thought it would be out in a week or so a month ago?

WMPoweruser.com : How good is the Dual LED flash on the HTC HD2? Pretty great!

I think the flashlight app is my most used one. Shame you cant run the LED's and full power for long though. I've been using my phone to take a lot of pictures of hard to reach places recently and it is an amazing tool. works very well because the flash and the camera are so close together.

WMPoweruser.com : Windows Phone 7’s Future… JailBreaking

I've been hoping for this. How amazing would it be if MS made jailbreaking just hard enough to keep out the people who need a locked down device but easy enough for old WM fans? If jailbreaking basically unlocked WP7 to be like WM6 it would be the greatest phone OS ever. I also think that MS is intelligent to have considered this as xda is a major reason WM^ has lasted so long. Obviously they cant say or even hint that it is their plan but the difficulty and benefits of jailbreaking will be enough of an answer.

WMPoweruser.com : Microsoft softening their stance on Copy and Paste in Windows Phone 7, plans 'good' implementation&r

I think their main problem with WP7 is the idea that "more than enough for most people" is good enough. my main issues with WM6 is not big problems but that i constantly hit small obstacles. Lots of "good enough most of the time" features means you will sometimes want to do something slightly different and have problems. If these situations happen regularly then they give the impression of a poorly designed OS with no real focus for what the problem is. this will make you hate the whole OS and not just the lack of one feature or substandard performance in specific areas. A truly great OS has their great general features (like this context sensitive text thing) but also has a backup system which is flexible and reliable.this means that at the worst you'll just run into features which seem slightly out of date rather than features which are completely missing.

WMPoweruser.com : Teased 64 GB ZuneHD hold promise for 64 GB Windows Phone 7 devices

Probably wont cost too much when WP7 is out though. The higher end phones will probably ony be in 32 and 64 gb variety to avoid confusion and i wouldn't want much more than a £50 difference.

I will only care about this if the cost between the different capacities on phones is not more than it would cost to buy that much larger sd card. if it's like 5x more expensive just because it's internal then i will probably move to another OS.

WMPoweruser.com : Editorial: WMPoweruser.com and Windows Phone 7

I will wait and see. i'll use 6.5.3 until i can change and have decided. There's not much chance of me sticking with a stock WP7 phone though. I'm hoping there will be a way to remove the restrictions without losing any features. My main reasons for disliking the iphone and android is their appearance. i hate the soft bubble like style. There are a few big issues i have with the locked down WP7 though. I hate the locked down appstore, the memory cards, the cut and paste and the unreplaseable default apps. I'm frustrated because i hate the direction MS is going but I'll probably be forced to go along because i hate apple and google just a little bit more. There's plenty of time for good news though so i wont be making any plans for a while.
