KCRG : Search for Relatives of Cedar Rapids Murder Victim Comes Up Empty | KCRG-TV9 | Cedar Rapids, Iowa Ne

Tammy, when were Larry and Doris married? What was her name at the time of the marriage (Maiden or previous marriage, does anyone know? Was she married before?) If we have names, we can trace them, but, right now, nobody has any name for her except Bevins. A closed adoption is a closed adoption, but we might be able to find collateral lines. Can none of the Bevins family speak for her? Is that because she and Larry were divorced?

KCRG : Kirkwood Works to Improve Image, Partner with Businesses | KCRG-TV9 | Cedar Rapids, Iowa News, Sport

b_'s 8-year 2-year degree in liberal arts may or may not be appealing to employers, but remember that a lot of the Kirkwood programs are vocational, i.e. intended to train you in two years to perform a particular skilled job. The problem with those is that, as a DMACC electrician instructor pointed out earlier this year, the people who get pushed into those programs are the ones who didn't do well in primary school. Maybe learning disabilities, maybe mental and/or physical health issues, maybe poor motivation. Are those really the people you want wiring your house, though? The Kirkwood programs that provide jobs are the vocational ones, not the liberal arts ones, and if people want a good job, they should consider those.

BINGO. Also, how about explaining the simple precautions people need to take so this doesn't happen to them (and especially to their children?) An eminently teachable moment about the very real dangers of raccoon roundworms and parasites in general, for that matter.

no, the updated story talks about raccoons... it's baylisascaris procyonis, the raccoon roundworm, easily aerosolized and breathed or accidentally ingested whenever any raccoon latrine is disturbed, i.e. brushed out of a tree stand, crushed underfoot while walking, etc. I don't know where they got the "dander" thing...
