Change.gov : Happy Holidays! | Change.gov: The Obama-Biden Transition Team

Terry,

When I was in college I began to realize the more I learned, the less I knew. What doesn't feel right is the moral chaos our society is plunging into. People aren't courteous, they lack respect, many steal to make money or because they want it and somebody else has it.Some historians believe democracy will self-destruct. That may very well be considering what we're turning into.

God doesn't tell us what He looks like. He does tell us to some extent what He believes. The Bible has been around quite a while, in spite of the people who have tried to destroy it. There are things I have questioned, but over a few years I have gained a better understanding. I do believe there is an "entity" that created everything. An awfully lot of it makes perfect sense to me. And yes, faith is an abandonment of reason.

--- On Tue, 12/30/08, IntenseDebate Notifications <notifications@intensedebatemail.com> wrote:

There is a reason one has to choose to "believe" in God. We know gravity exists. That is a scientific law. How many times a day do most people think about gravity? If we could prove God existed we wouldn't think of Him any more than gravity. Belief in God requires a change in behavior. It's not an easy road. It is a choice. And, I might add, much of the Bible has been proven.
