"And Ilunga will score for Doncaster. It’s written in the stars." Let's hope he gets disorientated, doesn't know which way he's pointing and it bounces off his a**e for an own goal.

West Ham Till I Die : In Conversation With David Sullivan (Part 1): Demba Ba - "One of the Biggest Mistake of My Life"

SSP08: bit of a circular argument there which sort of comes round a bites you in the backside: What you are implying is that you wished WHUFC had taken Ba on a solid contract (i.e paying Hoffenheim 6 mil) when he had just failed a medical at Stoke; If we were relegated in that situation we would have been sellers of a player with a suspect knee and we would have got nowhere near 6 mill for him - just look at how much we got for Scott Parker who was on good a contract and had performed such heroics in the season. Ba was "one that got away", but at least we didn't have a big transfer loss to add to our relegation.

West Ham Till I Die : Ten Things to Emerge From the Millwall Game

I can't see the problem... for the team that is. There is a saying "missed by a hair's breadth" so perhaps he thought a few extra inches on top wont go amiss. He may look like a dopey twonk (that's his choice), but who will complain if those extra few inches means he reaches a glancing header into the goal!

interesting to see all those comments asking why Reid (amongst others) was not dropped. Looking at the BBC stats (despite the possession which is skewed due to 10v11) its 11 v 4 shots and 6 v 2 on target.

West Ham Till I Die : Transfer Update - 2 Days Left!!!

BBC reports that Bilyaletdinov has moved from Everton to Spartak Moscow for 5 million. Slaven Bilic was supposed to have recommended WH, but where did he go after WHUFC? Now Everton would not have funded a net transfer of 7-9 million for Jelavic as they have no money. However with money coming in from this sale and a net transfer of just a few million I can see it happen.

getting braced ready to be shot down.......I don't want Tevez back at UP. When he kept us up he was a great player, but he was really just a "sticking plaster" on a weak team that should have been relegated by all accounts and purposes. When he left and the wound was reopened and we ultimately went down. Tevez was a great player at West Ham but his antics since at City have been appalling, or he has at least been appallingly advised. What influence would be have on the younger players in the dressing room? [And remember Joorabchain's part in what turned into the Sheffield Uniited debacle; do we want him back behind the WH scenes?]. If we get promoted it would be best, IMHO, to do this with a team that will be there next year for the prem. We want to develop striking partnerships this season and also formations that will be there ready for the following campaign, and not have our plans disrupted because a linchpin has gone and left in the summer we have to start afresh.

West Ham Till I Die : More Clungetastic Gossip on the Transfer Front

re: Green Let's just say for a moment we were not promoted. Rob, 32, would surely want to move on and, like Scott last year, have a chance of one last big contract with a top club. Who would blame him after what he has done for WH (as with Scott)? However if he signs a long contract with WH now then this would price a lot of clubs out of buying him and he would most probably spend another season in the chumpionship. It still baffles me why no serious offers came in for him last summer, even though he was, unjustifiably in my opinion, still tarred with the World Cup blunder. My hope is we'll go up, and he will sign a new long contract (4/5 yrs) with WH in the prem. Only if one of the top 4 clubs (i.e. Champs League teams) come in for him in the summer would be be tempted away (as long as we are promoted that is).

West Ham Till I Die : Match Preview: Hull City v West Ham

I have been to the last two away games at Hull (actually pseudo-home games for me as I live a mile way from the KC stadium). First up was a disappointing 0-1 loss under Zola, then then 3-3 in which we "threw away" a two goal lead (with some ref help), and so am expecting the trend to continue tgoday with an away win! Getting my coat on now... . I will be stuck in the South Stand with my "Tigers" mates but am hoping the Irons support is as vocal as it was for the 3-3 - cracking away support. COYI !

West Ham Till I Die : An Opportunity Scorned, but was the Defeat Such a Surprise?

Whilst I don't listen too long and hard to Barry Hearn's witterings, I think the counter arguments made here about which team is the team for a certain borough is missing the point. The regular "bread and butter" support, that makes a match day what it is, is still (mostly) made up of locals. But the idea of supporting a team or not based on whether it is one side or the other of a line on a map is plain silly. The OS is about half as close to Brisbane Road than the Bolyen ground (as the bird flies) and so it may well be true that new supporters may grow up looking to West Ham rather than Orient (though there is already enough pressure on football fan parents to make sure their young kids don't go off and support Chelsea or Arsenal etc). Personally I am receptive to the idea of a ground share. Whilst a share with Spurs or Millwall may be a bit too much to take why not Orient? It must make financial sense and would mean the stadium would be used more for football as a percentage of its life. Thus footballing needs willl have more of an influence over how it is configured (retractable seats etc) in the revamp.

These new players will need a little time to train with the existing squad and bed in properly. I see pretty much the same team for the next game, but a much changed bench. I reckon we'll see a slower evolution to the best team if the away results keep coming and if the home form picks up. Cardiff and Leeds at home have not been the two easiest home fixtures we could have had in the first five games.

If some team had snapped signed him on July 1st we would have all wished him well as he went on his way. However as a 30 yr old+ player someone will only probably come in for him late on in the window. He therefore feels (and is) in limbo. I feel a more sympathy for Parker. He played really well last season, broke into the England starting lineup and was a revelation in that first game. As a 30+ player the Euros in 2012 are his last chance and so I can understand him feeling a little uneasy at the start of this season. He won't make the England squad from the Championship, that's for sure

West Ham Till I Die : Should We Sell Carlton Cole

You can't just show the door to players who have a contract without losing money by paying them off, and not getting a transfer fee of course. I think we'll see a few more move on when Sam has seen them in training and friendlies, and when he decides who he wants to keep and who he wants to bring in (and can get). We may still be lumbered with some old faces who no one wants but are too costly to let go.
