West Ham Till I Die : Vote: Player Performances v Middlesbrough

Yes you are right, the football over the last three seasons has been poor, however there were occasions when we managed to string two or three passes together. We don't seem to be able to do that against teams in the bottom half of the Championship.

Just got back from the game. I have been going to UP for over 50 years, and I can do without any lectures about loyalty. These last few games have to be the worst ever. If anyone comes on this site and starts complaining about negativity (that includes you Iain) I shall reach for my gun.

West Ham Till I Die : Purge Your Negative Thoughts & Get Behind the Team!

There seems to be a feeling that being critical on this site and booing your own team go hand in hand. There is absolutely no logic in this argument. I like to think I give credit where it is due, e.g. where would we be without the current owners, but when we have a mid-field that on paper is the best or at least one of the best in the division and then against teams like Watford and Doncaster we bypass them by hoofing it up to the likes of Maynard, who is never likely to win balls in the air, then I think we have a right to air our views, otherwise what is the point of this site.Incidently, I have never booed a player or team, not even Ince and Defoe.

Yes, you are right Tom. The negativity on these pages is a reflection of the negativity in the way we are playing. If Sam showed a bit of positivity on the pitch the majority of fans would get behind him, despite the odd set back.

West Ham Till I Die : Cardiff City Pay Back!

I don't understand inbredjesuits comment (first post). I thought your analysis was spot on. Particularly concerning Collison, who given time will recapture his previous form and potential. Taz Ve does seem to be a bit of an individualist and may well take time to settle in to a new team. He is a proven goal scorer in this division with I think 10 goals with his previous club.

Like Doppo and appyhammer I too am coming out of the closet. My first match was in the I950s and I stood on a box in the chickenrun, but I don't remember the opponents. Ted Fenton was manager and I clearly remember John Bond, Frank O'Farrell and Malcolm Allison, before the era of Moore, Hurst and Peters.

You have hit the nail on the head. Teams come to the Boleyn looking for a point and we don't have a creative player to break them down in the final third. and as you point out when the wide men both have an off day we just don't trouble an organised defense.

Surprised if Collison is "rested". He completed the Blackpool game, but in the two previous games he was subbed very early on because of the red cards.

Iain, personally I wouldn't argue with your lineup, however I suspect it's a little too adventurous for Sam. If either Tompkins or Faye is unfit I wouldn't be surprised to see someone like O'Neil come in to stiffen the mid-field.

West Ham Till I Die : You Know You've Done A Good Interview When...

Is it any wonder we are still waiting for a gay footballer to come out after reading the homophobic drivel on WHO. To be honest I am thankful for WHO as it possibly drains (I use the word advisedly) off the type of poster we might get on this site. I know in the past you have thought of packing it in, and who could blame you, however, I am sure you have taken a great deal of pride and encouragement from the comments on your DS interview. I don't think there has been a dissenting view. Good on you Iain.
